Hi L4wence,

On the Philips LED bulbs for the REAR indicators, how did you fit the Resister Plate & wiring into the light cluster? The instructions say it must be attached to metal as the plate gets very hot. I ordered these as my current cree ones aren't bright enough on a sunny day - I've got blown out of it twice now when the driver behind me thought I didn't indicate before slowing down so choose these instead. If you have pictures that would be a great help too.

Hi Rebelred,

The resistor plate and wiring is not needed. Simply fit the bulb in directly. No messing about and no errors :) All of the lights I posted just fit straight in and don't give any errors. Shouldn't take you more than 10 or 15 minutes to fit.

Interior:

Door lights (fit both front and rear doors, order two sets for all doors)

The SEL Exec only has door puddle lights on the front two doors. The rear two are simply reflectors. I've removed the reflectors to look inside if there is any wiring for rear lights but nope.

So only order one set. They are bright indeed.

Brilliant, thanks for clarifying that L4wrence, I was afraid to put them in directly without confirmation, in case they overheated. Thanks again

Sorry for bothering you again L4wence, The bulbs don't fit as the 'locking pins' are in a different position to the holders. The pins should be at '12' & '6' but as you can see mine are at '12' & '4'. Were yours like that or have I been given the wrong bulbs? They appear to be the correct ones????????

Are you sure you are trying them in the correct bulb holders?

They are correct, the 12 & 6 o’clock bulbs are the reversing lights (reversing lights are closest to the tailgate)

Glad you got it sorted in the end Rebelred  They are miles better than the standard indicators.

I Agree 100 %. I'd highly recommend them & there is 20 % off them at the moment (see L4wence's link )

Probably not used to the system but on the page for the indicator lamps it says that they are not road legal. In the event of an accident which requires the constabulary to attend I.e. rear shunt with complications, could there be a come back? This question comes from SWMBO I think the lights are great but I don't think a box of chockies will do the trick, she worries about the gents in tall hats. Edited by rafmike

I already raised this question on another thread and it was answered with a good explanation by BilllyJim:

Does anyone know what bulbs would be required for the front and rear ceiling lights?

Really need to crack on and update my SE L Exec lights. Just been so pleased haven't bothered tinkering but i'm guessing this is a good place to start.

Need to get ordering.
