Oxygen Sensor Issues

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I'm looking for some advice regarding an issue that my VRS has been having.

I've got a '14 plate MK3 VRS TSi hatchback and it's just done over 16,000 miles. I'm currently having a few issues with oxygen sensors that has been going on for the past couple of months and is causing me a bit of frustration now.

My car broke down in December 2015, with the EPC and Exhaust Inspection System light coming on. I was accelerating in third, the engine misfired, and there was quite a strong smell of petrol inside the car and from the rear. The fault codes were: P130A00 (cylinder shutoff), P013600 (O2 sensor circuit defective), and P030200 (combustion failure cyl. 2). The car was recovered by Skoda Assist and was taken to my local dealer - they replaced one of the oxygen sensors and the car had been fine since then.

I've done about 1,300 miles since it broke down and the Exhaust Inspection System light / MIL came on again over the weekend, there were no obvious symptoms other than the warning light. Skoda Assist came out to check it and reported that the car is displaying error code P227000 (Oxygen (Lambada) sensor signal B1 S2 is stuck on too lean).

The car is going in for repairs again at the same dealer later today, but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar with their Octavia's? Is it a common problem for the oxygen sensors to fail, or is there likely to be a deeper issue?

Apologies for bringing back an old thread, but did you get sorted in the end OP @Stroeng5 ?

Mine was towed to dealer yesterday with similar symptoms and error code. Curious to know if your issue came back again after 2nd visit and what was replaced. Thanks.
