So for these of us lucky enough to have our cars, I was wondering what your favourite feature (s) are on your Superb?

I'm well impressed by the car all round, but I'm loving the DSG box and the KESSY system. Touching the door and having it unlock is pretty nifty!

The AFS is really clever. I love the Bi Xenon headlamps. For the first time in any car, I can actually see at night and full beam? Wow. Am I enjoying the car? I love it!

  • For me its the simple joy of not being kicked in the back by my 3 year old as I drive down the road, not because she isn't trying to (because I'm sure she is) but because she cant reach me any more.

  • I love the ACC. The KESSY is fine and I have it but I would prefer the system I had some years ago on a Renault Megane, walk up and the car unlocks, walk away and the car locks.

  • I love the smile this car gives me so often...and the 'Wow didn't expect that' from sceptics...

Bizarrely they are all features I had for 4 years on my Superb II, alas they've become pretty jejune.

So for me it's a case of what's new? I don't do much motorway or long distance travelling in the UK, but on the several continental trips I do each year the Adaptive Cruise Control has been a godsend.

I had a 2009 Renault Laguna Coupé before my 2011 Superb II and the only thing I missed was the auto-dimming door mirrors (the Superb II only had interior mirror dimming). I'm so chuffed that they are now fitted on the Superb III (if you have the auto-dimming interior mirror).

It only unlocks when you touch the door handle, at least that was the case with the Laguna, so no different than KESSY in that respect.

The walking away part I often found to be a PITA. If I had passengers I had to remember to remove the fob from my pocket and leave it in the car when paying for fuel, popping into the newsagent, posting a letter - otherwise the car locked itself and the passenger movement would set off the alarm.

Now it's become instinct with KESSY to press the outside of the door handle if I don't have passengers but not if I do.

I love the smile this car gives me so often...and the 'Wow didn't expect that' from sceptics...

Stepping up from an S2 SE, it's:

KESSY

DSG and paddles

ACC

Comfort levels (above my S2)

It's a topic I was thinking about last night on the trip home, although I just thought it should be one feature (the best) you should pick...   For me it's ACC

The comortable ride, after an E class sport it's like a magic carpet ride even in normal mode, and the seats, perfect for me.

Basically the spacious comfortable quite engine so well refined great looking car with all the gadgets I will need for a long time and yes the car does put a smile on my face when I put my foot down, The best car I have ever had.

Quite simply SUPERB by name and by nature.

Having 2 girls, 6 and 2, myself, that is music to my ears! My i40 is a fair sized car but I still get kicked in the back occasionally! ☺

For me, it's just the look of the car. That, and ACC and the comfort and space. And the electronic boot gets me going. Not sure why as it's hardly a revolutionary idea but it does. Every time :sun:

I like the fold-out bag holders in the boot. Simple but effective.

I too am looking forward to this, I currently have an A6 Ultra and my 3 year old struggles for space, I am 6ft 3 which doesn't help but from quick tests in the Superb it shouldn't be a problem.

I agree with you on the boot thing not sure why boot the electric boot opening is great, a real premium touch to the car that a lot of other cars much more expensive don't have, my mate who drives a merc E300 couldn't believe it, he was so shocked at the whole car and how much you get for just over half the price of his.

Also the size of the boot is just amazing, when going on holiday to France with wife who thinks packing only the essentials means packing everything in the house a boot that big comes in handy.

For me the heated windscreen...especially this morning running late for work.

Stepping up from a 2012 Octavia Elegance 1.4 TSE manual to the new Superb L&K 2.0 TSI 220 PS DSG.

Favourite features? Erm, where do I start? :)

DSG;

Electric parking brake with Auto hold is brilliant - I wonder why every car isn't equipped with it in this day and age;

Heated windscreen - no more ice scraping;

ACC combined with Traffic Jam Assist, Adaptive Lane Assist and Dynamic Light Assist is nothing short of a modern-age wonder  - I am looking forward to more motorway journeys;

Rear View camera;

Electric boot lid is very convenient and non-contact opening is impressive;

KESSY;

Blind spot monitoring;

... I can go on :)

Curry hooks, a simply Superb idea!

Heated Windscreen

Columbus Radio for Reading/ Sending Texts, Album Covers, & Google Maps & Reverse Camera

Ambient Lighting

Auto Hold

Love the car!

I'm glad it's not just me then. I can't wait to go out in it. The ACC comes in to its own with DSG. My wife's Golf has it but I don't think you really get the full benefit from it until it's coupled with the auto. Fantastic bit of kit.

Green drive on the Columbus is a bit of fun. Can't seem to keep it at 100% if I even think about tickling the throttle. The problem is the car is just so good to drive.

I swapped in an S2 SE 140 which I loved. Great drive, fantastic economy but the new car is just phenomenal. I haven't had it long enough to discover all of its virtues but it sure as hell is going to be fun getting to know her.

I wouldn't be on this great forum if it wasn't for my Superb.

I really don't get on with the ACC. What a stupid system. It's ridiculous the way it applies the brakes or more to the point illuminates the brake lights, when just taking the throttle off would have produced the same result. Unnecessary braking causes a ripple effect on motorways and dual carriageways and ultimately causes hold ups. ACC, lane departure warning and the like will only serve to make drivers less safe.

Is that your favourite feature? As per the title of the thread?

My bad, I'll start my own ACC bashing thread.

In no particular order:

1.4act engine, so smooth and quiet, sufficient power most of the time and excellent economy.

LED ambient lighting inserts in dash and door cards

8" screen infotainment coupled with Canton

Drivers seat and driving position comfort

Xenon lights

Full LED tail lights

Powered tailgate lift

Roadside appeal and presence

Favourite features?

The look of the car (I have a combi & love the new look compared to my last one - which I was happy with for 4 years)

Very comfortable!

The solid feel of the door closing which reassures you of the build quality!

My first car with DSG ...... don't think I'll be going back to manual!

Columbus system and the associated features!

.......... to name but a few!!

My bad, I'll start my own ACC bashing thread.

Meant in a light hearted manner  :notme: Forgot the emoticon last time round.......
