mini cooper s is impressive!

Not if its driven by the usual 'Punters'.

Either fit birds or short twa*T$ with 'Napoleon Complexes'.

Mini cooper S the other night- only just!

which way was he going?

Mini cooper s's really dont present a problem Bengie.

my calibra turbo is faster than a cooper s but from 80 to 120 but one the other night was not much slower

mini cooper s is impressive!

is yours standard or modded?

Standard, i will have to admit that i was ragging the bolloc*s of my poor VRS and it hasn't sounded the same since, the poor thing sounds rougher than ever now, hope i haven't broke it.

The cooper S was MUCH quicker around the roundabout but on the dual carriageway on the other side of the roundabout the VRS was ONLY JUST quicker, but, crucially, it was QUICKER.

I expect to get people writing in and calling me a lying plank but this DID happen!

Gents,

My better half has a 02 330d touring, and I can guarantee that my re-mapped furby beats it hands down in all gears up to about 125 mph. After that the BM pulls away.

oh dear.

UPDATE!!

After my Corsa incident where I nailed a 1.4...

Last night I was driving around looking for a race, christ I tried everything, tailgating people, swearing, but not one person would race me

Anyway after an hour of no racing I decided to head home, pretty angry tbh, BUT.... Some tw@ pulled out infront of me at a roundabout, Citreon Saxo 1.4, naturally I gave him the V's and that was it we were off.

Pretty even but I nailed him in the end, funny though I was trying so hard I forgot about a rondabout ahead and went straight accross it without looking  luckily nothing was coming.

Anyone else done anything simular?? Racing on public roads is excellent, so funny, I mean you never know you might even end up killing someone, how awesome!!

..well I nailed this grubby old white Octavia (wannabe VRS) 1.8T (complete with tow bar) the other day!! Great satisfaction indeed! :D ..driver looked real ****ed to be beaten by a diesel Furby! esp. as my vrs did look 10000 times better than his chicken shed on wheels!! ..FMIC, hybrid turbo bla bla bla - who cares ..its not a VRS!!!!

BTW I love the real Octy VRS!!

Who could that be?

Mine's not a vRS but I've beaten many an old man walking down the street. Ooh, I beat a Fiesta the other day, he did give me a chance mind by parking up.

White Van's mainly......... not in to screwing my car or trying to prove points to other road users, but its quite satisfying leaving White Van Men in a cloud of soot as you disapear off in to the distance after they've tried to park in your boot

I seriously caught out a 200SX S14a off the lights!

We were both sitting there side by side at a red light, he was revving up and making beautiful whoosh/tish noises, whilst I held my tractor engine at 2,500rpm.

The lights changed and I was away first, getting great traction, *bang* second gear, come on, *bang* third gear (he was still behind:confused: ), once I was up to 70mph I let right off and he shot passed, half a second later, with me feeling quite happy with myself!:D

I'll be the first to admit, that a 200 could seriously kick my a*se, but I caught him out, and he underestimated the Fabia... Bad move...

i seem to remeber a tractor engined car driver making some pathetic excuses about missed gears or something, must have been a carp driver though as he seemed to miss gears everytime

Did you really blow your gearbox three times????????

The Fabia vRS as standard is not that fast. After about 3 months I recall, I asked the question of whether it really was that quick. I stated it was no faster than most 2.0 petrols. I had several encounters. The last one was a 0-60 off some traffic lights (on a 60 road i might add before someone gets on their high-horse), against an Alfa 147 2.0. Nothing in it.

My mate raced me in his Ibiza FR when it was standard and he spanked me.

Some people believe the Fabia vRS would compete with a Clio 182. It might for initial thrust, but given enough road, a 182 will sail by. A remapped one will compete, but still not really beat IMO.

Fabia is good to about 60 or so, then it tails off. My mates remapped TDI 130 was a different beast though. That felt lots quicker, and realistically was as quick as the majority of people would need.

Are you sure ??? When I'm doing over 60 and in 6th feels like the car just wants to pull and pull all the way to 100+, in fact I'd say thats when it feels at its most potant and its possible to leave many more so called "performance cars" in a cloud of soot wondering what's under the bonnet of a humble Fabia

*sniff sniff*

urm a standard Fabia on the m40 last night. Over took him which he took great offence to, came tearing up behide me, left his over taking to he last minute and nearly took the side of my car out. No idea what his problem was but he had issues with a BMW too.

****!

I guess he must have be annoyed that I was in a vrs

More than me annoying other cars, I seem to find I get annoyed with other people! My car now seems to attract "wanna-ave-a-go" ch4vs to drive dangerously in close proximity to my car. This really gets on my t1ts, and I end up having to drive either over the limit or badly myself to get away from these pr1cks. :grumpy:

I got some respect at TSR today though. Was funny to see people run away from the car's rear as it revved up on the RR!

Jason, have to say I've been finding that myself lately complete kn*bs being the "have a go plonker!" but I wont rant on :o

*sniff sniff*

Got a cold coming Mil ?? Try some Lemsip Max Strengh, works wonders

my 1.4 16v annoyed a poser in a saab 93 vector I overtook him out of a corner having followed him in a spiritrd manner for about 20 miles on the way to Dundee.

Theres is also a Green 5 door Imprezza turbo that i like to stick myself to on the way home from work,

I cant overtake it but it can't shake me.

I had a 1.9TDi Audi A4 before my Fabia and the Fabia is faster.

Its got 30hp less but its alot lighter

get same mpgs

I can concur with that. Had a play with a few cars this evening. I'm not going to go into details of speed achieved or place names, but, tonight, with a witness, I was all over a 55 plate subaru wrx wagon. And I mean all over, and he was trying, with a face of disbelief. I also tagged on to a civic type r vs whale tale cosworth encounter. All three vehicles went from zero to high figures, negotiated two roundabouts, then the motorway where all 3 achieved thier respective top speeds. I was level pegging with the type r, cosworth got past at one point, but then ran out of puff. I was then left with the type r on the return motorway trip. He wanted to know what was under my bonnet, so i just said it was a diesel, which it is. I was in front of him as we went down the slip, and we were doing 120kph *cough, before he managed to creep past. He managed over 2 miles to get maybe 200 yds on me before braking for the end of the road. Again he asked what was in it. At the lights we both had a standing start, level up to 90kph where he started to edge ahead. Three times, three lights, same result.

Last contender was in a clio 182 trophy. Nice motor. He was 4 up, so I'm not under any illusions to the capability of that car. I managed to get ahead from the. lights, but not by much, a distance which was maintained to the first roundabout. He was right behind at the second roundabout too, at which point, my new arb came into its own. I mullered him around that, increasing the distance, but not by much it has to be said, then well into 3 figures before i peeled off the motorway. If he didnt have the 3 extra passengers, he would have pasted me, no doubt at all.

Before any do gooders come along, these encounters were on deserted dual carriageway sections, leading to a deserted motorway all after midnight. And no animals were harmed.

I must also add, that my back seats and spare wheel are not in my car.

Also I recliamed the 240 bhp, 840kg starlet that had previously caused me some difficulty.

Nobody will believe any of the above but - am i bovvered?

No.

I believe you man  :D

Well i for one am impressed if your furby does 140+ MPH

Why does everybody assume that the other driver is on the limit? MOST people have restraint / respect their licence.

Dont forget that your driving licence is a privilege that you have earnt (and paid a fair bit for), it can also be taken off you!

Am i the only one who thinks people should grow up a little when driving on a public road?? it is no wonder that many judge the average vRS driver as a tw@, when you are driving like this!
