what car has your vrs annoyed lately?

Featured Replies

Am i the only one who thinks people should grow up a little when driving on a public road?? it is no wonder that many judge the average vRS driver as a tw@' date=' when you are driving like this!

:thread: :soapbox:[/quote']

Another man from Uranus? :D

He has a pretty well remapped car, so 140mph should be nothing if he has well over 190bhp.

The Fabia vRS as standard is not that fast. After about 3 months I recall' date=' I asked the question of whether it really was that quick. I stated it was no faster than most 2.0 petrols. I had several encounters. The last one was a 0-60 off some traffic lights (on a 60 road i might add before someone gets on their high-horse), against an Alfa 147 2.0. Nothing in it.

My mate raced me in his Ibiza FR when it was standard and he spanked me.

Some people believe the Fabia vRS would compete with a Clio 182. It might for initial thrust, but given enough road, a 182 will sail by. A remapped one will compete, but still not really beat IMO.

Fabia is good to about 60 or so, then it tails off. My mates remapped TDI 130 was a different beast though. That felt lots quicker, and realistically was as quick as the majority of people would need.[/quote']

Just wondering if you have ever posted without mentioning the clio 182?

Since he got it, no... but I think I understand why he keeps mentioning it.

I absolutely spanked a Bentley Continental GT today . . . . .

. . . I was getting 55mpg. :D

the only driver my vrs has pi55ed of is the behind my wheel cause the stupid turbo is down again, see thread about no boost turbo, going in on 29th to have some pipes changed, most unpleased at the moment cause cant burn anyone off

Fabia VRS's might be pretty quick mid range, but sorry guys, you need RWD to be a traffic light champion. It also helps if your car weighs 720kg. My previous car had 300bhp/300lb and with a Quaife LSD, I could still get beaten off the lights due to initial wheelspin.

300bhp and 4wd is probably better than rwd off the lights

clutch problems do occur though

Transmission losses though, this could go on all day :P

The thread is what has your vRS annoyed? Does blocking 30 people in a car park while I ate a sandwich count?*

*Totally untrue btw

I can tell what I haven't annoyed. A V70 T5 going up hill onto a motorway and it really fecked me off. I was thinking 'Need ReMap asap'! Have surprised one or two cars, but need that 1 Click fitting to surprise more. Standard VRS's are v.fast in gear, but they totally run out of steam compared to HPT petrol cars if you start trying to use the full rev range.

I too was shown up by a a J reg E280 Merc, well not shown up - couldnt take him on a peice of uphill dual cariageway...

The furby is nippy, but any car with the same ballpark figure of bhp/tonne will be able to keep up to a certain extent esp. at legal speeds...

how much faster was the volvo?

Well, not hugely faster, but he did pull away from me. A T5 delivers it's power across a wide rev range (just like my new Focus ASBO) and therefore, you have no worries about narrow powerbands. I think that if the 1 Click had been fitted, I'd have kept with him.

Also, remember that Fabia VRS's aren't exactly light. 1300 kg plus is a lot of weight for a small car. Compare that to circa 800kg with a Mk1 Golf GTi!!

Well I thought this thread had vanished!

Still, I annoyed my girlfriend in her 1.3 Hyundai Getz because I stole her parking space - she was trying to beat me into it too

what focus you have then? I have a 1.6 zetec for a company car and its power band is pathetic! trting to get a vrs company motor

No, a ricer is someone who uses the Jap influence in their car. Generally big bodykits, neons etc. It is a derogetary term for people who have watched Fast & Furious one too many times.

A "ricer" is someone who looks like Anneka Rice, blonde, big smile and helps people by getting challenged.

So, it's either "ricist" or racist then.
