Hill Assist

Featured Replies

i have just bought a superb L&K 2015 2 liter DSG

i am extremely disappointed to find it doesn't have hill assist

i have this engine and gearbox in a VW golf and Scirocco and they both have this feature, does any one have this enable on this engine gearbox combination, and can it be enabled on my car?

  • Mine works fine when reverse parking uphill..... Not had an issue at all either parking myself or with the park assist.

  • Faulty sensor maybe? Mine certainly works exactly the same whether I'm driving forward up a hill or reversing backwards up a hill.

  • Mine works too....

Would also like this feature.

G

Can be activated for free with VCP or VCDS or probably for a fee by a friendly dealer.

VCDS or VCP can do it if the pump supports it

Dealer probably wouldn't do it

What Eddie-NL said.

The demonstrator I drove had an auto box and no hill assist, I nearly rolled back into the car behind .

Haven't had it enabled myself when I bought my Superb MY2012 at end of December last year - just needed to enabe it via VAG and it works brilliantly. So don't loose hope, get somebody with VCDS or VAG and look if you can have it for a 'pack of beer'

HHC can be enabled as long as your ABS unit is compatible which can be found out by doing a scan in VCDS etc....

The ABS unit on mine is a BE variant hence i have had  both HHC and XDS enabled....

PR-1AT = Electronic Stabilisation Problem (ESP)
PR-UG0 = Hill Hold Control (HHC) OR Comfort Driving Assist NOT installed
PR-UG1 = Hill Hold Control (HHC) installed
PR-UG3 = Comfort Driving Assist installed = XDS
PR-UG4 = Hill Hold Control (HHC) & Comfort Driving Assist installed

I have a 1K0 907 379 AK ABS controller which is listed above as (PR-1AC) but this is not listed in the variations.

Does anybody know what PR-1AC means in relation to HHC?

PR-1AC doesn't seem to have been mentioned at all in the thread that I was originally given the table in so I myself can't help.... Sorry. :(

I have discovered on the internet that PR-1AC appears to be the vanilla version with Anti-lock braking only  :|

Correct, the mk70 units like the AK rev only support ABS. It is a cheaper light weight unit with only 8 solenoids.

The mk60/mk60ec1 units have 12 solenoids to allow them to support ESP. As in the table posted earlier some of these also support XDS or HHC depending on the electronics.

It is possibly to switch a mk70 to a mk60ec1 but it's not a simple swap. It'll need a different electrical connector, an extra power feed and knowledge of generating long codes for the new unit.

I replaced the AK in my Octavia for a BJ rev and gained ESP, HHC and XDS for about £100 if it helps :-)

Thanks for the reply Langers2k.

I think that I will keep using the handbrake for the time being as it sounds an 'interesting' and knuckle skinning mod.

We were lucky enough to have the correct ABS unit fitted to our 2011 MKII CR170. I implemented HHC & XDS with VCDS and I have to say HHC is fantastic.

my unit is 1KO 614 517   CTA   can hill assist be enabled with this unit please?

In your VCDS scan what does it say in the section for "Address 03: ABS Brakes" next to "component" as that will also tell you the actually type....

So in the VCDS scan for my car it says "Part no. SW: 1KO 907 379 BE HW: 1KO 907 379 BE"

Then on the next line "Component: ESP MK60EC1"

I.e. Something like this.......

Address 03: ABS Brakes (J104) Labels: 1K0-907-379-60EC1F.clb

Part No SW: 1K0 907 379 BE HW: 1K0 907 379 BE

Component: ESP MK60EC1 H31 0108

Revision: 00H31001

Coding: 863D601609240002611406EA90200082340000

Shop #: WSC 33361 790 00101

No fault code found.

*Edit* A bit of googling seems to say that your unit is used on 4x4 models????? Hence the totally different part number.

Thanks for reply. Going to talk to a guy with VCDS & go from there, I'm also awaiting dealer to see if it can be enabled. Apparently they are contacting Skoda to see if it can be enabled

I have a golf with same engine gearbox combination. So don't understand why it's not suitable for operation

So from my googling of that part no. and it being used in 4x4 vehicles am I right in thinking yours is indeed a 4x4 variant as you haven't mentioned it in your original post etc...

That list I gave earlier are for 2WD cars rather than 4x4 etc....

My Carr is superb 2.0 diesel DSG L&K

Where did you get your part number from as googling it says it is for AWD/4x4 cars and if yours isn't a 4x4 Superb I would expect yours to have one of the ones I listed before.

Took a pic of the unit!,

Ok I'd do a VCDS scan and confirm what that says the details for the ABS module are under address 03. What you have given is the ABS pump i think rather than the ABS module which is what the VCDS scan will give you.

I say this as I know of at least one other member who did the same as yourself and got a different number to what he did when he carried out a VCDS scan. The number in the scan tallied up with one of the numbers I listed earlier.

Ok. Thank you for your help and advice

No worries.... This is what mine shows up as in VCDS when doing a scan. I've highlighted in bold the info you need to look for.....
