Upgrades For Fab Vrs Tdi Engine?

Featured Replies

Hi There,

Please could anyone tell me what is the maximum possible bhp you can get out of th 1.9TDi PD 130, also it true the torque is limited at lower revs?

Thanks,

I think 180BHP is the best, without risking reliability - rumours of 190BHP are around, but I believe are unfounded... yet. I don't believe torque is limited, as it goes up in sync with the BHP.. or at least I assumed it did. :D - I'm hoping for 150BHP out of my TDI.

Welcome BTW - Good choice of car.

Hi Jason,

Anything to look out for with this TDi unit as I will be driving this beast in two weeks?

Rich.

Depends how much cash you have to spend.

I reckon around 210 - 215bhp and around 350lb/ft with custom Remap and the right exhaust.

Maybe with a hybrid turbo, modified injectors (probably v expensive due to PD system) and uprated IC you could get a lot more.

Then there's propane injection etc. :D

take it easy!!! especially in the wet! 3rd gear wheelspins are just a dab of the right foot away! :D

try to keep the revs below 3.5k for the first 1000miles (you wont need to go any higher) ;)

and welcome to the exclusive fab vRS club

We do remaps for the Fabia vRS at AmD.

We have done one so far and as soon as mine is run in we will be doing another ;)

Results were 181 bhp and a stonking 326 lbft torque.

PAH!

Quality motors you see. Be good so see some modded though :)

I hope they dont become common!

ive already had to put up with that and my damn clio 1.2!

if i ever see a Fabia vRS with anything resembling a neon washerjet.. ill sell my car!

Third gear wheelspin... as standard? Woo-hoo - cannot wait until jabba time now. :D - I'm not I've ever got wheelspin in anythin but first.. Except perhaps when booting it around a bend, but that's not really spin, is it?

Aren't the washer jets under the lip of the bonnet?

I've got neon in my boot.... just never bothered to hook it up :D

It would be interesting to see what a vRS vs your TDi would be jason.. yours has shorter gear ratios i think.

Jason may get the chance to find out when we get our cars Jabba'd at almost the same time! :p

Speaking from experience and a spirited drive home tonight, the handling needs sorting after a remap big time. Almost understeered into a barrier !!

Jonathan

181bhp and 326lbft

I was thinking that too, Graeme - I think that Saturday morning could be great fun comparing mine Jabba'd Vs yours, just before being Jabba'd - I bet there's no real great difference, especially with rumours of 140BHP ones out there as standard. :D

Nice stats those - 181BHP is pretty good, and seems to be the standard to reach with the car. - Get those in your profile signature now - to replace the booking date.

Shorter gear ratios... I dunno you know.. I know the vRS obviously has a sixth gear, which is longer than my fifth by about 250RPM at 80mph. I'm not sure how our 1st,2nds,3rds compare though. Who's got some ratio stats then? :)

Should be an interesting comparison! :D

*mumbles something unprintable about those bloody diesel owners and their fancy remaps*

Feeling a bit left behind Steve? ;)

I have something sitting at work for you. Just hope I remember it when we go to Duxford! :D

Haven't forgotten!

Can meet you halfway somewhere in a couple of weeks if you like? (2 weeks wednesday is payday...)

Am working the nex couple of weekends, but I shall seee what can be fiddled! ;)

Damn - I have to wait to the Thursday. :D - Then I'll just be spending it all again, godamnit!

edit: off to bed now. [yawn] - dreaming of Jabba tonight.

mmmmmmm. Jabba!
