Can I easily change turbos for my Fab?

Featured Replies

Hey guys, so I was browsing the interwebs the other day and came across I believe its a PD130 turbo that they use in the VRS's? Correct me if im wrong, but could I switch it from the turbo I have in my 1.9 (PD100) without problems or having to change any other parts?

No. There is probably quite a few things to consider. I wouldn't bother myself and just change for a vRS would make more sense.

Not sure about the plumbing difference between ASZ and other models

Injectors?

Mapping?

Insufficient brakes + handling.

Headbolts?

Certainly not something matter of fact. Not impossible, but worth the effort? Not IMO.

You can get a useful increase in power and torque simply by remapping yours.

You can buy a full turbo upgrade kit from Darkside Developments £1700 including fitting and mapping. Not cheap but you can upgrade the brakes to 312mm set up for a couple of hundred quid :)

I know its round about 55+BHP, the only problem I have is that my car has done 200K miles & I think its running the original turbo

Crazy. Get a 2nd hand car for the sum of that, and obviously if you wanted it can be a Fabia vRS.

another, possibly cheaper, option is to get your turbo reconditioned and then get it remapped to around 150hp?

should be good for another 100k :P
