.. oh, and yes, i know - the car needs a clean :)

I like that.......I have a Candy White Octavia Combi with blacked out back windows and I thinks this would look alright once I've bought the actual signeage and can....

I want that - I have a Meteor Grey hatch and yes the shiny badges look a bit bland on the grey.

I better study youtube - Rob_e  I assume you don't remove badges

Correct, badges don't need to come off.

Love it. Really complements the car and the black pack.

Looks great, what spray did you use? How do you remove it in the future.

Plasti-dip - it goes on like a spray paint but it's a rubberised coating. Just peel it off if you want to go back to original.

If, at a later date, you want to remove the Plasti-Dip is this possible ?

What happens if you pull some dip off the emblem by mistake when peeling excess ?

I've actually bought black badges but after seeing the videos on this I regret it! Why doesnt the plastidip peel off with the overspray? I mean, its not even slightly happeing!!!

Very nice buddy, being a Meteor Grey owner, I think that looks spot on.

Just watched the video and I reckon even I could do it......maybe.

Looks like a cheaper and simpler alternative for anyone wanting the black grill surround too.

But won't it come off when you use a jet wash

Check out my "guide" on how to remove the grill surround.

It took me all of 10mins to do so possibly a similar time to plasti-dip it, but with the knowledge that I used an official skoda part in black magic.

It's an easy mod which I managed (and that's the first ever mod I've done on a car).

I bought my grill from Skodadop and it arrived safely and within 1 week. Cheap too at £20-ish.

Hi All

This my be a "marmite" reply, but I hate badges!! I had the dealer remove all the badges off the tailgate when I picked it up [also the same for my Monte]. Leaving just the round Skooda badges on the bonnet and tailgate.

At this moment, my vRS has been in the body shop since Monday having both these removed! A metal blank welded in, smoothed and the sprayed , on both the bonnet and tail gate. It's has not been a cheep thing to do [have not had the bill yet] but if you feel very strongly! In the same way that I have now have 2 working exhaust outlets - again not cheep.

I may post pics, if there is any interest from you guys!

I would be very interested to hear how you get on mate. It's something I'd consider if the price was right. I'm also expecting it not to be cheap but it will look great.

Thanks.

Would be interested to see this!

Hi all again

I expected some negative repiies, so I have been very surprised at the response!

The work has now has been done, and I have arranged to pick her up on Monday morning.

If I am happy, then I will ask them to do the same with my Monte!

Next step - get the rear camera connected up [body shop should have fitted the new handle/camera], front parking sensors.

Plus a leather retrim, as I have had done to my Monte.

That's the current update.

Steve

PS will post pic next week.

Hi all again.

If this worked, look forward to your comments.

If not sorry - will try again tomorrow

Back looks OK, front looks like a Kia, too bland sorry. Is this another thing the insurance company should know about. We all know what they're like when trying to wriggle out of paying up in the event of a claim

My car hasn't arrived yet but I'm pretty sure I'm debadging everything but the Skoda badges...

Seen some gloss black ones off of a Monte Carlo on superskoda but €40 each wasnt cheap!!

As long as you are happy with it then that's all that matters I guess! If I was being honest I'd echo the Kia comment above, with the back now looking bland. Probably won't be an issue for you but if I was looking 2nd hand it would be an absolute deal breaker.

They've done a good job though, and if you're happy that's all that matters!
