It looks different and a good job. Not sure if it appeals to me or not.

Just out of interest moving away from the debadging, where did you get the rear roof spoiler lip?

If this worked, look forward to your comments.

If not sorry - will try again tomorrow

Steve

its definitely different, looks like a stormtrooper :)

Nice !

I'll defy popular opinion here. I really, really like it :)

Any chance of a long shot from the front to see the whole thing in context?

Yes no problem.

It ant going to be moved for a while, until I return to France. I will get a better pic and post it - bear with me!

Steve

Yeah, I love that stealth look! Any chance you could give an indication on cost? By pm if you'd prefer

I really want to remove the roundels on my m5 for ultimate sleeper status

Looking sweet, get some more pictures up. What front splitter you running?

Hi guys

The cost was ----£700!!!----- but they also made the rear handle hole larger to fit the year 15 rear handle which is larger - this is to enable rear camera fitment. FYI, they did not use filler to fill the hole, or just weld some metal in, they "pulled the metal out - as seen on "wheeler dealers". Despite the cost - but you do get what you pay for - and I am very pleased. They have also done other work on my vRS.

Front splitter - is the same one that Superskoda sell - that was the first one. But it got damaged by a policeman [well he was asleep on the road!] - that's the problem when you have lowered suspension! New one came from Maxton Design - exactly the same design. They also do one for the Fabia 2, which I may get for my Monte.

Hope this answers your questions.

Steve

Sounds like you are happy and that's the main thing! It is a bit extreme for me but that's life we are all different, good on you and all the best! ;)

Yes, well I work the assumption you can't take it with you, so you may as well enjoy it. None of us knows what's around the corner. I do like a bit of SKIing - Spending the Kids Inherence. Sorry daughters!!

Good job done. Though what brand of car is it again.....;-) I heard a rumour it was a skoda of all things....

Hi

I have had a lot of looks from French people [wondering what it is!] - they don't seem to have seen a vRS over there. In the two years I have owned my vRS, I have never seen a French reg one!!

If you know it's a Skoda - then you can appreciate for what it is.

If you don't know it's a Skoda - as above

No matter what the badge [if it's fitted] you should look at the car, style etc and then hopefully you will know the quality of the styling.

I rest my case

Steve

Whoever did it has done a good job.

De-badging is very subjective just like the thread on here about lowering. A lot of owners won't see the reasoning for doing either owing to lease car ownership whereby hands are tied.

I think in your case it works well owing to the white paintwork.

I have a elegance spec and no intention of modding (it's just basic family transport). My boxster though sits a little high but fitting 911 carrera wheels has effectively filled the arches. A few other tweaks but on the whole very standard as that will recoup more when I sell it on.

Each to their. Wouldnt the place be boring if we all drove race blue octavias.

Steve,

Still waiting for the full picture (or pictures) :P

Sorry M12MKD, but my vRS has not moved from my drive since I bought it back and will not until it returns to France next week. I will get some better pic while we are away and post them on my return.

Steve

Can't say I dislike it, its just different - real nice job though regardless.

I've got the black magic Skoda emblem badges from Superskoda which I will be fitting - looks like a bit of a ball ache to remove the original badges though as they are recessed, anyone had experience of removing them without damaging the paint surrounding them?

I thought my 230 looked a bit naff with shiny silver badges on the back..  previous vRS's have both been debadged but i sort of like the funky new script that the mk3 has.. just not shiny.  The 230 has matt black exhaust tips to i thought i'd do the badges to match:

This is just plasti-dip so easily removable.  There are lots of videos on how to do this on youtube - very easy to do.  I already had a can of matt plasti dip in the garage so it cost me nothing which is nice.  Took about 30 minutes including masking up (tape an old sheet over the rear of the car, cut out holes where the badges are).

Looks much better i think?  Black against meteor grey looks great IMO.   I also did the bonnet badge but i didn't take a pic.

Where did you get your bumper protector from? I bought one from SuperSkoda - genuine part & it just sits on top of the bumper where as yours & h3srr's covers the top completely and the edge. Thanks.

Looks great, 18 months on, has it lasted well? Do you have to avoid pressure washing the plasti dipped areas?

ha ha.. 18 months?!  It didn't last 3 months... :)

The front badge suffered with stone chips - even though this is plasticised it still gets rock impacts making holes in it.  rear seemed to start lifting at the edges - i could have probably re-done it and maybe taken a bit more time in prepping / cleaning up the badges before spraying maybe it would have lasted longer, but no, as far as i'm concerned this is only a temporary thing - looks great when it's done but isn't going to last very long  -  maybe somewhere sunny and warm all the time it would be fine but not in the uk with our cold wet climate.
