fabia vrs mk1 stutter on idle BLT engine

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone knows exactly what is the cause of the engine stutter when at idle on the 1.9 tdi pd engine (BLT) in a mk1 vrs?

It has had a new egr valve and cleaned the anti shudder valve and inlet at the same time.

Would it be possible for the vacuum box to be blocked causing the stutter? Mine is blocked as you get that drone from it when you switch the engine off.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

It's what the EU4 engines do.

It's what the EU4 engines do.

There has to be a way of resolving the issue as they didn't leave the franchise / factory like that?

Served my time at skoda and never came across them doing this until later on in the engines life when I no longer worked there.

Thanks

Yeah they did leave the factory like that. Check back on here for stutter issues and fitting a modified EGR gasket to limit EGR flow, which helps but doesn't cure it completely.

Worth checking the torsion value with VCDS as it will have had a timing belt by now and if that's out it won't help. But the only 100% way to sort is to map out the EGR function.

Must have been lucky to bever come across it at the garage I was at.

Ok no problem.

Cheers.

I should say. The dealer I worked at in MK were heavily involved in trialing various fixes to sort it.
