Manually activate rear sensors?

Featured Replies

Am still getting used to my new VRS Estate having only had it a month or so.. I'm wondering if there's a way to manually activate the rear parking sensors?  In my old Leon FR+ I could push a button near the gearstick and that turned the sensors on.  In the Octavia I can't find a similar button/option - the only way the sensors turn on is when I engage reverse.

Have tried a search before I posted :)

If the set up in the MKIII is the same as the system on the MkII Octy, you only get that button if you have front sensors fitted.

If rear only sensors, no button, and they will only operate when reverse is selected.

That would make sense...  my Leon did have front sensors (the Octavia doesn't - which is daft!) so maybe they were the same - button only there if you have both sensors fitted.

Mine has both F&R and has the button, makes sense that if yours doesn't then it's not available with just rear parking sensors.

Also mine sometimes comes on even when not parking...........guess that's another issue lol

Haha yeah that sounds like a different 'feature'!

Shame my car wasn't spec'd with the front sensors.. I kind of miss them.. never mind - will get used to not having them :) no biggy

I went from a Leon FR to an Octavia Scout and really miss the front sensors, the HID headlights, the folding mirrors etc, kit is a bit disappointing for a £28K car.

I sort of agree..  on one hand there are basic things you'd think should be included (such as the folding mirrors and the front sensors) that appear on other similar models in the VAG group.  On the other hand it's quite a nicely designed car with lots of good points.
