I think we need a tamed racing driver!!!!

some say he can only be found in deep oceans, but we only know him as the...

And I also know Neo_VR is a sleeper on this one.

I thought he was running Revo and a Forge FMIC?

I thought he was running Revo and a Forge FMIC?

He is.

HTH

So what's sleeper about his car?

So what's sleeper about his car?

Nowt, unless I am (likely) wrong.

Heh,

To me, sleeper means running big power in a stock or OEM+ looking car.

Yep, a remap and FMIC will make a brisk motor, but not really what I'd call "Big Power".

I think Jason has raised the bar somwhat when it comes to Fabia tuning.

If I knew I could trust myself to keep my car for more than another 18 months (which is when I plan on selling it), I'd think more seriously about slapping a hybrid turbo, injectors, fmic, exhaust, diff etc on mine... But at the moment, I think it'll do me as it is (albeit with a new clutch) for the rest of its time with me.

BTW, not knocking your car mate... Just confused as to what Hellfire meant.

With all due respect to Jason, I don't think he's done anything particularly revolutionary.

Bit turbos, exhausts and intercoolers have been put onto TDI's for years... and there are hundreds of 130PD engines running 200bhp+.

And, I think others will agree, that even with uprated suspension, bushes, engine mounts, strut braces, big tyres etc, 200bhp is still too much for the Fabia chassis.

Just my tuppence worth, and I still want a mentally fast vRS!

Ross had the fastest Fabia vRS, then Blackmagic (and Stars car too) took the lead, and now Jason has to be up there in the 200+ club.

Xav (who now owns Ross's old car) is now playing catch up, but I have every confidence he'll be up there soon.

I have to disagree about the chassis.

I think with everything you listed done to the suspension (assuming your "uprated suspension" means coilovers), and the addition of a Quaife ATB Diff, you'd have a serious handling car that could easilly take the power.

Edit: Jason's car is running much more than just 200bhp isn't it? That's why I mentioned his in particular.

Hybrid Turbo

FMIC

Exhaust

Clutch

Custom Map

Coilovers

Rear ARB

etc etc...

I can imagine it being quite a monster!

Ok, all fair points Josh.

Doesn't bm also have some sort of LPG injection or something?

He is.

Was ;)

Nope.. standard injectors means hes lucky if he gets 210bhp @ fly.

as black magic rightly stated, theres pretty much naff all difference with x mapped car over y mapped car... i bet if you put a bunch of furbys in various state of tune (without big turbos) a different one would win every time.

my revo'ed car is more powerful than shiftys and with a much wider power-band, but he has the short ratio box which claws back the power advantage.. if it was on a warm day my car would kill his with its fmic.. and this doesnt take into account various drivers driving style

I think you are right Col...

Except maybe for those who have "conservative" maps. ;)

Damn, I need some uprated injectors! :(

Definitely my "missing link" now.... Also another missing link would be the T5 Allard turbo that's now been tried and tested on the pd130 test golf (last I heard)

Not planning a new bigger turbo yet, but injectors are a must to be honest. Getting lots of low down turbo surge as its trying to push over 1bar at 1500rpm, and the injectors can't work hard - same problem lessens in degree as fuelling and RPM increases up the rev band.

Think I'd better get ASR back soon too.... Gonna be going through front tyres like no tomorrow if tonight's driving has been anything to go by. :D

black magic didnt you meation a while ago about a company(allerd i think) had a 260bhp fabia vrs?

Allards have Golfs running this power, but the fellow with the Fabia stopped short of the huge injectors.:)

Have you spoke to Mikeyboy to see if the 20% LPG injection cuts the workload of the standard ones. :)

I'll sell you my ASR after tomorrow.:D :D :D :D

I saw one stunning Fabia vRS on here about a year ago.Up for about 14k!!! Don't remember if it was fettled engine wise or just cosmetic

Anyone remember it and what money have people spent to get these figures (together with the bits needed to cope with 200bhp)

That was Barrys car, it was sold as near standard in the end, ho couldn't get the price for it with all the mods. I know because some bits are on my car but most are on Brians Star car.

As to spending money, it never stops, always something new to try. ( like a Quaffe diff:D _)

In the end i should just have bought the car, it would have been cheaper but with no offence intended i don't like silver cars.

To find out who has the most power we should ALL go to a RR on the SAME day and see what we get. Then lets all go the Santa pod and find out what 1/4 mile times the cars/drivers can get. Then all sit down and list all the mods and costs.

But at the end of the day the driver makes the car not the car.

John.

What about the Awesome 3 day event between Crimbo and NY. I'm down in Manchester for 4 days and was going to join the cupra net guys anyway.

That sounds like a plan!

It would need to be the same rolling road on the same day to have a fair test, i would love to see the 'shootout' but i'm all the way down here in gloucester :(
