Not a bad plan. Position 15, bottom right on the relay plate.

I've quoted you in this Wino to see if you have any thoughts? I've had the lower dash out just now to get the relay out of the car, from position 15 on the relay plate.

On closer inspection the relay in position 15 is a "53" relay, with part number 141 951 253 B on it, not a "109" relay.

Looking on ETKA, it actually differentiates the relays in position 15, on cars up to 2005 it's suggesting a "109" relay, and for cars 2006-2008 (which mine is being a dec 2006 build car) it's saying it should indeed be a "53" relay with the number of 8D0 951 253 A.

I assume that the relay in position 15, regardless of number, controls the same functions on the car? Namely comms to the ECU/Fuel Pump?

I'll get TPS to get one of these "53" relays in anyway.

Cheers

Matt

Just a case of one part number superseding another I think mate. Checking here, both of those part numbers appear under the Skoda part number heading near the top of this page: Relay 645 Germany 4H0951253A (skoda-parts.com)

I think any of the part numbers in that line will do the job.

Erm, nope. I've been conscripted into substantial DIY renovations at home, structural work, new Kitchen etc so the Fabia is languishing in the garage under the cover still.

I'm being nagged at now by everyone to get it finished and on the road soon, so hopefully it'll be mobile this year. Hopefully. Fingers crossed....

In other news I sold my 1969 Mini and replaced it with a 1991 Mercedes-Benz 260e W124, so with that being nearer the garage door is being used for local shows and classic meets etc, further pushing the Fabia into retirement.

Looks good so far, Matt. :)

Cheers Ryan, even though it's been under a fitted cover it's covered in dust, but main focus will be to get it finally running ok then start cleaning it again.

I have a custom tailpipe for the car but to get it on the road quickly I'm in need of a Milltek rear silencer, as this will mate up to the hybrid Milltek system - if you come across any for sale on the "socials" pages that is!

I'm on the Fabia Owners Club on Faceache so I'll keep my virtual ear to the ground for you. :)

The way that intercooler mounts will be a bad OCD trigger for many! I know I couldn't have that on my car.😂

You know what, I think you're correct. It looked ok initially to me last night but now I'm sat here studying the pictures the more it's bugging me.

I'm now looking at getting the right hand SEAT Sport intercooler bracket modified to bring the cooler out flush with the left had side. Sent some images to a fabrication buddy of mine who can work his magic.

Haven't seen one yet on Facebook, still keeping an eye out. :)

Good work going on here... you're a braver man than I am.

That might well help a little with the pipe issue you described before too.

Glad I've seen this so I know that the intercooler on my vrs is mounted "properly" (wonky)

It's a bug bear for sure, to pull the passenger side forward would mean hacking off that bumper mount as well so I'm leaning towards leaving it where it is having looked at it in depth.

Good news is the 30 degree bend boost pipes fit nice and easy, that removes at least that struggle.

I dug the front bumper out of storage last night, found the fixings for the external air temp sensor and the air temp sensor so i'll be cleaning that up next and trial fitting that.

Test fit of the front bumper was a success. I even found the fixings after all these years.

Bumper is back off now as I’m painting the inside edges, be back on tomorrow along with the fig light surrounds. Once it’s finally on I’ll give it a good clay barring then machine polish it.

The 30degree boost hoses were an inspired choice, they take all the struggle out of trying to manipulate a short straight hose and fit almost perfectly.

More pics when it’s all buttoned up at the front.

This looks fab... pardon the pun... :D

Sunday update. Car looks the same as yesterday apart from the bumpers now painted inside and the carbon dipped fog light surrounds are fitted.

Had both front wheels off to give all the arches a blow out with the Tornador which has a weak mixture of Bilt Hamber Surfex HD in it, this cleans off the collected dust and after a wipe with a microfibre they’re as good as new. Polished the wheels in and out as they were caked in dust from sitting.

So that’s the front end done. I’ve started deep cleaning the back now with the Tornador with a view to finalising the exhaust set up. I have been messaged by a Fabia fella on the “socials” saying he’s got a Milltek back box so I’ll wait and see if it comes good.

Exhaust located - couldn't get any sense out of the lad with a supposed Milltek back box so based on the research I've done, a Piper 2.5" rear box will mount to the Milltek 2.5" mid-section.

With this information I spent some time on the Piper website and they list a 2.5" rear section, without a silencer and with a 5"x3" oval tailpipe. This is only intended to be a temporary measure until I can get it into the custom exhaust place for my 3" downswept tailpipe section in due course.

It should be here within the week so I can get it on and the car ran up to see how it sounds. I'm expecting it to be similar to my Black vRS which had the unsilenced Ulta Tip exhaust on it and that was acceptable.

Yeah I couldn't either. The joys of Facebook. :D

Haha reaction for the Greta sticker... :D

By way of holding plates on, Arnold Clark had these snazzy clips that held the show plates for photos ovsd the top of the car's reg. I don't know what they're called, though.

Glorified Bread Clips

Not quite. Our ones were two slots a side held together by elastic, you slid them onto the original plates and then dropped the show plates on the slot at the front. I'll see if I can get one of the lads to get a photo, I can't as I'm not working there anymore.
