Cup Holders...or lack of!

Featured Replies

Morning All,

Am I being blind or is the only cup holders in the front of the car behind the gear stick?

Is there anyway or anything to improve on these as they are not really big enough to fit anything in securely?

Coming from an 10 year old Audi A4 with the ingenious cup holder which popped out the dash, this seems to be a bit backwards!

Thanks

no, only those two in the front beside the handbrake.

I presume you'll have see the 2 in the rear seat arm rest.

Yeah found them, which are great...just a shame the rear leg room is so vast, makes it difficult to stretch back :p

I love all the little touches on the car, just seems the front cup holders are a complete let down!

overall, you'll find Skoda really are "clever" in their design. I'm sure you could retrofit another cup holder on the side of the dash?.....i'm only driving my skoda less than a year and for the first few weeks i loved the extra little things you'd find out about the car I didn't expect....you could try something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Car-Air-Vent-Outlet-Mount-Cups-Bottle-Beverage-Drinks-Stand-Holder-Bracket-/121873801129

or a one that hangs off the inside of the drivers door like this; http://www.amazon.com/TARION-Universal-Vehicle-Multifunction-Adjustable/dp/B00CJ7HTNI

That's not very clever missing out cup holders

Thanks for the links, will have a look.

Just think it is such a shame as I like some of the quirky 'clever' things they have thought of...just a shame they seem to miss out more important things!

How big are the drinks you have? I get large fast food drinks in without issue and 500/600ml bottles without any issues.

I find the cup holders perfectly adequate for everything I have put in them so far. On my old golf there was a curved part of the door pocket at each side that was also a cup/bottle holder as well which was nice. The older generations of A4 did have a pop out cup holder and I remember on the mk4 Golf and early B5 Passat had a double pop out cup holder that would hold your drink in front over the air vents which would keep them cool with the AC on.

Have a drink before leaving home and another as soon as you get to work, no need to have open drinks in the car at all then  :D

Personally I find the cup holders just right, I rarely have a drink in the car but if I do it's usually a can or 330ml bottle which fits perfectly.

im in the car all day, i need a commode and drinks holders

I like a place to put my cup and saucer , not to mention the teapot

I find the thermos cup with the more narrow bottom fits lovely. However, it does struggle with my whisky tumbler!

Cupholders are the least of my worries when trying to pour out a cup of coffee from my thermos.... It goes everywhere,,and if you manage to get it in the cupholder and apply the brakes it floods the gearstick surround..

I just keep my spare change in there now...Oh..and dont put a fruit scone in there ..you will never get it out in one piece..

I use a plastic bottle in the holder in the door. I don't do coffee or tea so rarely have a 'cup'.

Right, this is getting me annoyed. We are embarking on a long (4 week) road trip and need to buy water bottles to fit the Skoda. Remember this is the company who sponsors Le Tour de France, but have cup holders that won't hold a bicycle water bottle.

I've found the following that should fit the opening in the Superb II...

Does anyone else have any Superb approved 63-65mm dia BPA free water bottle suggestions?

Thanks

Matt

didnt my lad send me a link for a skoda bottle holder that gripped a bottle so you could remove the cap?

mind you, sportscaps are also available
