No remote locking on drivers door and no mirror control

Featured Replies

Hi,

Are these two things connected? ie. a module failure within the door or just a common connector issue?

The door still operates by key.

Many thanks to anyone who can enlighten me.

Check for a broken wire between 'A' pillar and door inside the rubber boot. Also check the multiplug on the bottom of the window motor, it's common for water ingress and corroding the pins. There is a big thread on here about it.

Thanks simspj,

Good advice to start my search!

Cheers.

Hello there, I am having the same problem. Both driver's mirror and remote locking on driver's door stopped working. So I checked the big plug inside the door for rust, but everything looks nice and clear. What should I check next? Where is A pillar? Thanks

'A' pillar is the part the front door hinges are fixed to.

I believe the problem lies in the micro switch in the door lock module. My Octy is like that, no puddle light, no central locking on that door and no drivers mirror movement. However there is a position just before the door closes where the light on the dash will light up and the puddle light will come on, so it's looking like the micro switch. The window plug looks in good order and I've had the loom out and mended a couple of dodgy but still working bits of wire and that made no difference.
