What every time I get in the car? No other way around?

I don't actually know, but I'd hazard a guess the answer is no. Mine lives on silent, so not something i've looked into

If you've got an Android device have a look at Tasker. You can set a rule that will mute your phone when connected to a given bluetooth device. Other programs may be available and easier to use whereas Tasker is powerful but can be daunting if you're not tech savvy.

So silent phone regardless of how it's done is only way forward. That also be a problem when receiving text messages while out and about when connected. Can you change the car to default silent?

I've wondered this, I have two or three ringtones for calls & another two for email & texts.

My main ringtone is the NCIS theme, Home - Homes Under The Hammer, Work - Mission Impossible.

Email - Homer Simpson, Texts - DLT's Quack, Quack Oops!

I'd like it to come out of the car speakers when connected by Bluetooth but I can't get it to do it.

I think it's to do with the bluetooth profile that the car uses to identify its self to the phone. It's not simply a speaker or a bluetooth hands-free kit (Hands free profile) , it's more like the car's head unit is a mobile device which takes over control of your phone's mobile network connection (sim access profile).

In my car, I only hear the car's ringer, it overrides the phone's ringer so it doesn't ring at all, phone is a Galaxy S5.

Just purchased a LG G4 so maybe a setting I can use that silences the ringtone when connected. Still need to hear texts and emails comming in though

Your infotainment should show a little envelope on the screen for texts received. Not sure about emails though. Never seen anything about that.

Funny thing.

On my android phone (Galaxy s7 edge) it uses the tone selcted in the Bolero.

On my iPhone it uses the tone selected in the iPhone (playing out through the Belero).

The Android phone show contact pictures, the iPhone doesn't.

This is officially possbile only with an iPhone.

For Android, Bolero will use the car ringtone :)
