heated seats and rls sensor coming soon......:D:D

I fancy heated seats myself, will probably go down the route that Mike holroyd has with the aftermarket kit and switches fitted in the seat coin tray.

yes i have visited him and its a great solution but i am going for the oem option with the switches in the climate unit and oem wiring loom and other parts, mainly so it comes up on the radio screen when in use like the heater functions do.

Thanks its been fun though.

I rang skoda today as its due a service.

After laughing at their quoted price i decided to take a couple of days off work and wash wax and service it.

5l of castrol edge titanium and bosch oil, air, fuel and pollen filters for just under £75.

Easily under two hours to change them all.

Oem parts or nothing...

If youre going to do the job do it as skoda intended.

Hopefully reflect in its resale value as it will be fully loaded

Absolutely stunning car but I know where you're coming from with the cost of a service, which is basically an oil and filter change..

I buy the stuff and my local garage does the oil and filter change for £20 and he looks over the state of the brake pads and stuff under the car when up on the ramp then when I get home I pop in the new air and pollen filter myself, I just need to check when the fuel filter is due to replace.. It's been done in the past I just need to check the paper work from previous owner for the mileage it was done at.. I've had her coming up on 2 years and 27,000 miles

Its now out of warranty and there is no way im paying a dealer the extortionate price for something i can do in 30 mins.

Apart from the price i dont trust main dealers or garages in general to do a good job.

The oil and filter is now changed every 6k and air, fuel and pollen every 12.

All done with correct bosch filters and castrol oil.

I keep the receipts which are dated so while its not service history as such it proves its been done.

It has had its dsg fluid done at the dealer but is going to a specialist for a cambelt and water pump when its due.

I know what you mean... A full service is a necessity in the warranty period but like you I've had some horror stories myself with main dealers over the years ....

My own cars coming up on 10 years old and 97,500 miles so I keep all my servicing on a spread sheet, my local does the job cash in hand so I've no receipts but he'd gladly confirm that the works been done when it comes to sell.. I use Mann Filters and 507 spec oil and change it when the service is due or just before it which is roughly every 9,000 miles or 9 months

Lovely car so many impressive mods. Could you please provide part numbers for the front, rear and wheel badge changes? (or point me to a thread with them).  Looks much better with the new badges I am going to have to do that!

Four new tyres this week and passed the mot again without a single advisory.

The car has a potential new owner viewing it tommorow as he was promised first refusal.

If he doesnt want it, it will be up for sale next week.

car was viewed this morning by another enthusiast.

He is having it subject to his car selling so i have given him two weeks before the car is advertised.

So i will do a full advert with all the details then if its not sold.

Hi Tommy,

This thread makes for a very interesting read, great work!

I'm trying to do a mk3 MFSW retrofit into a 2008 mk2 CR TDI and I'm confused about the buttons situation.  I'm trying to find a wheel from a scrapped Superb, what model year do I need to look for to be sure I get the right ones?

I've read mk2 Facelift, but so far I haven't found one with the new type wheel.  Do I need to be looking at new shape, mk3 Superbs?

Cheers!

A MK3 Octavia or MK3 Superb are MQB based so they won't work :)

The buttons need to be from a PQ35 based car, such as the MK2 FL Superb (3T chassis, 2012-2015) or FL Yeti. Be careful of badly listed Superb wheels as they'll look similar on the MK2 FL/MK3 changeover.

Just as an example:

- from a FL Yeti http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/182627090850

- from a MK2 FL Superb http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122560978629

Is the FL Yeti still current? (forgive my ignorance! ). So any Yeti 2014 should do?

There are more of these being broken it seems, if we use eBay as a gauge. E.g.:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/182619647240

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/352099056257

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/182619651466

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/282517500985 etc.

Another question: I need a 'CH' multifunction controller, will this come on the Yeti / mk2 Superb?

Cheers
