Got back to my car after a day in work and had received an anonymous gift by someone who I can only think is an absolute tw*t!!!!

Just what I graft my arse off for, to pay to repair for some numb nuts **** driving!

You can probably tell I am not a happy chap this evening,

I have 3 scratches in 2 years on my car (although minor compared to this). I said, never again a new car.

Calmed down a bit now, I love the black paint that's gone right through the clear coat. Matches the black pack!

Body shop for me then? Can't think of any other way!

If you want to bring it over to me I can take a look and advise

Never ceases to amaze me what a lack of respect people have for other people's property. Had mine dented too with a month of owning it. Hope you get it sorted without too much of a dent in your wallet

I clipped a short post, didn't see it driving in to a carpark few months ago put a dent in rear door and wheel arch

Can't afford to have it fixed at the moment and I can't afford to use my insurance company

Not necessarily. From the look of it is just a paint transfer to the clear coat. Had similar "gift" two weeks ago to the front bumper, went to the car wash and the guys cleaned it in 10 seconds with some liquid.

Cleaned it now, detarred as well, what's left is through the clear coat, bit gutted to say the least!

Had this happen myself a few times, totally disgusts me how people can do this, no respect!

Very annoying, combination of poor driving, ignorance, and the fear of insurance companies hiking prices, or no insurance. I know it's hard to tell from pictures, but that looks like it would buff out with a DA and Menze Final Cut.

Had a proper look in daylight, and I have managed to clean most of it off. I'm hoping the rest will polish out? The only part that feels like it is chipped is the lower line at the bottom of both doors.

I used this guy based in Manchester. Did a fantastic job.

Before and after shots attached. Had to use a glue gun for this job as the area was double skinned.

Alas it's a uniquely British trait; can't bear to see someone else with something better than them.

Makes my blood boil.

Cheers pk. Looks like a decent repair. I'll check the web site.

I think you're right, only last week someone put a dint in the door on troubles ST in the work car park, only had it 6 weeks!!! My blood was definitely boiling. Not having much luck at the moment.

I assume you have been around Paris, Milan Spain etc then?

The bumpers are for parking against and they would think nothing of pushing your car down the road a few feet if the gap is not big enough.

Yes but that's just their modus operandum over there.

Here it's jealousy that is the reason behind it.

There's a world of difference between not giving a $h1t about someone's property and being filled with envy to the point that you'll happily, and willingly, damage it.

And then boast about it down the pub the next day.

Forgot to say it was £90.

I didn’t see anywhere where this is the case, it appears to be just careless parking and not being bothered about it rather than purposely going out to damage it, otherwise the doors would be caved in, the OP ‘got away’ with it quite lightly as it could have been much worse... still annoying that ANY damage was done though.

Very minor in comparison, but my rear bumper got what looks commensurate with someone opening a door onto it last week.  Fairly sure it happening in the work car park.  Buying a rearguard has covered the chip out of the top edge of the bumper, and all I'm left with is a 1/2" crack in the paint at the bottom bumper edge.  Very disheartening when you're trying to keep something nice  :S

Sounds like we all need something like theautoi.com to get evidence of any people's lack of respect

So, just spent the last 2 hours with polish! Majority has come off, only minor chips to the lower ridge line, about the same size as the stone chips that pepper my bonnet and bumper. Cheered me up a bit. Gonna see if I can touch them up. Still annoyed that someone would do this! I'll have to do a full detail this weekend to put a grin back on.

Glad I didn't get a Transcend 520 - no parking mode - oddly in their lower models ?? So why point front and rear then ?? You can keep that product guys.

I don't think I'd necessary use it all the time - but on suspecting your might have a problem your vehicle is being tampered with I'd at least like the power of information on that (more from curiosity to be clear if parking up if anyone does go near or not and then retrospectively explain any scratches etc).

So you could at least work out it you were at home, work etc.

This could be interesting though - Blackview DR430 2ch ?
