Columbus Backup

Featured Replies

I have an Octavia MKIII with Columbus Infotainment system. I have quite a few stored destinations on the system for customer sites. I would like to back these up ready to transfer to my new Superb due for delivery very soon. Is there a way this can be done? I haven't seen an export facility on the Navigation part of the system.

Have the same system but not yet fully familiar so unsure if it is possible. A quick look at the Columbus manual pages 64 to 66 or thereabouts, mentions saving 'waypoint tours' to the sd card. If the system can save something from navigation to the sd card it might (or might not) give you what you want. It may be worth a look and I hope it helps. Alteratively, I wonder if plugging a laptop or tablet in via usb will give you access to interogate the systems saved files and perhaps save them from there.

Thank you for the reply, I'll take a look and see if there is any way to do this. I would expect this to be quite a popular request especially as you build up quite a few stored destinations. Surely Skoda can't expect to change vehicles and sit typing all these back in. I'll let you know how this pans out.

Skoda have replied to an e mail I sent to there "contact us" address. Unfortunately it is not possible to back up the stored destinations. Which I find strange, but that's straight from the manufacturer. Looks like I'll be doing a bit of manual typing when the new Superb arrives.

That's a shame; can back up contacts etc on 'phones so might have expected same here. Thanks for reporting back.
