well yes its meant to be about 55 combined i think

Youll find that it will be around 40-45 for several thousand miles.. but it will improve as the engine runs in more (can take upto 15k miles on the TDi)

my clio 1.2 struggled to do 30mpg when it was new.. but 30k later, it does 45mpg.

i usually get 43 out of my furby vRS with 1800 miles on the clock

I get around 45-49mpg on mine. Although the briskoda national meet saw around 39mpg! Although me and Jason were trying to keep up with Jon in his modified Octy at the time!

I would expect above 45mpg for the Fab vRS. Running in should see a difference, but not a huge one I would have thought.

mines doing 48 average acc to trip computer

only done 700m though some of it a bit spirited

well impressed:D :D :D :

That was fun Matt, wasn't it? :drive1: :D

Even I managed to get an average of just below 50mpg for that little 200+ mile trip around Wales... But normally get around 45 or less on motorway travel, so I wouldn't be too worried about 40mpg on a new car. A combined of 55 probably includes a mile of 30mph, a mile of 75mph, and about 25 miles of 60 mph, so will always be a decent figure.

PS: I'd be happy as a pig in doo-doo if I got 40mpg + out of a 130BHP car.

Oooh yes indeed!

Think I used up quite a lot of fuel with the smokescreen I created! :D

iam probley to fussy about it but i just want it to be right ive already got a rattle on it thats a pain in the ass

I know - I was the one choking on it! [cough cough] I'm just clearing the last of the fumes from my lungs now.

My turn to smoke a little from Dec 12th. :D (but I'm not sure how much it will without a boost box..?)

Rattle? Not coming from under the central air vent is it? You know an inner tube, chisel and some persuasion is good for that one. :D

no jason its from the n/s/f door i need it sorting quick

Bloomin 'eck!

You'd think Skoda would have got the hang of the Fabia's dashboard by now!

Oh well at least its (quite) easily fixed.

In the door? Hmmm.. Got me stumped that one, but if you can shake the door when standing still and replicate the noise for the dealer, they should be able to sort it. Pain in the a55 for such a new car though. :(

(having said that I've only cured all my squeaks after 45K miles, better late than never)

This is sometimes the door trim rubbing against where it meets the dash (next to the air vents)

Can be helped a little by lightly wiping some silicone spray on the two plastic surfaces, where they meet.

Could also be a loose wire or something rattling around behind the door trim panel?

i take it you had that dash rattle matthew did you hit it with a big big hammer

I get about 40-50 when taking it easy, but most of the time I get about 35-40 as I love the feeling of the turbo kickin in! childish but FUN!! :D

wot i think happening is the door trim panel rubbing against the bottom sill

Coat every bit of plastic around that area in bathroom silicone sealant. Won't get any squeaking then... [ps: I'm here to be ignored]

Graeme - While you're here - heard about the Derby meet maybe moving to the 13/14 December (Jabba weekend) - I'm up for nipping over there after you're done there...? Any thoughts?

borrowed one from big K!

jason iam sure a squeak will pop up somewhere in the car

I gave up on the big hammer... The dashboard was starting to get depressions in it.

So I had to go in and perform major surgery on the inside. It's quite funny how a dash looks from the inside - There were wires everywhere and even writing from the factory on hidden bits. :)

did u take the dash out

Could be up for that little trip to Derby depending what time I get done at Jabba! :D Nice little drive to test the difference. ;)
