Taking off the Badges..........

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of removing the rear Badges off my 230, I've noticed, but some have only removed the Skoda Octavia ones but left the vrs

I had some bum hole up my back end today in a Golf GT Tdi jobbie looking thing, looking for a drag.

Should all the badges come off to avoid the Knobs, I know what it is and what it can do.......... :notme:

Your thoughts please

I always think cars look best with only the badge in the middle...I like symmetry haha.

I reckon anyone of the mind to race anyone else on the road would pick up the twin exhausts before the vRS badge. I quite like the small splash of colour on the vRS badge against my White paint. The clean look is nice, so why not, if you fancy it (I assume you don't have 230 splashed down the sides - that would soon go if it were mine).

Catgut fishing line removes stick on badges, if you try with screwdrivers/knives then I've seen a lot of damage, cut behind with the catgut remove the badge, roll off the double sided tape with your fingers and polish up

At least with your car you can remove the badges without the worry of taking off the colour top coat & exposing the primer......... :D (sorry...i will get my coat.... :p )

PMSL

I left my VRS badge on the front, but that's going to come off...I removed all the other ones, but replaced the Skoda bonnet and boot badges with black ones....

How are you going to deal with the grille badge?

I think any one who knows or has any interest in cars would know its a vrs, without the badges, the wheels and stance are a giveaway. In fact its more probable that a debadged car is been messed around with. Any one who has any of the hot vag cars has probably looked at each equivelent as well.

Hair drier and dental floss :-)

I think the badge is part of the actual grille. I'm not sure that approach will work, but let me know if it's successful.

Back Draught.

I took all the badges off my old Scirocco and it looked much cleaner.

I don't like the look of the debadged Octavias, the ones I've seen look a bit bland imo. The 230 stickers went straight away but like others have said, the kind of people that will want a cheeky race to the next lights are the same people that will know it's a vRS anyway.

That and the twin black exhausts give them up!

Just knock the shifter down and then wait at the lights for them.

It's an old Western but I can't for the life of me remember the name :D

Not backdraft, which having been a fireman for 29 years, I can confirm is the opposite of a superb film, one of the worst films I've ever seen imho

It's on the tip of my tongue! I'll ponder it while I eat my beans..

Blazing Saddles. When Hedley is trying to sign up the Mexican bandits for his gang!! One of my top 5 films!!

that's not it, although it is a great film. It was the Treasure of the Sierra Madre with Humphrey Bogart and Walter Houston

Now that I think about it, they did use it in Blazing Saddles, it was a homage to the original use in Treasure of the Sierra Madre

Yup -

Mince was debadged all but the front and rear vRS badges when it received its new car prep detail. I prefer it.
