And the Ateca too I believe...

4WD 300ps will be interesting! Still don't think there will be a Petrol VRS 4x4 though.

I think the Vrs Range will be dropped by Skoda.

If mother VAG is allowing this then why not push it skodas way too?? I imagine all the 'performance' cars from VAG have their die hard followers...so can't see it makin too much difference sales wise....

And imo I very much doubt they would drop the VRS....but then again you never know!

I think the Vrs Range will be dropped by Skoda.

I highly doubt that...I'd bet a very large chunk of Octavia sales will be vRS'. It wouldn't make any commercial sense to drop that part of the range.

agree - they sell loads of vRS octavias - why would it be dropped?

The 230 stopped 'cos hardly anyone bought one, but the std 220 and oil burner are very popular.

I bought one, you bought one thats Two    :notme:

Skoda's are getting too expensive, the next Generation Octavia Vrs ( if there is one ) will be another £5k or £6k more expensive

For £30--£35K money theres a lot more 6 to12 month years old Hot cars to choose from

I almost bought a 07 plate Jaguar XK R instead of the 230 ( for a lot less money ). Petrol/road tax cost doesn't really affect me as I do less than 5K miles a year.

Don't think my next car will be a Vrs

More than half of Skoda Australia's annual sales are the RS, I'd be very surprised if it goes away. They've only just launched the 230 here, albeit a limited run (so the comments of orders being closed weren't quite true).

Aussies love their performances cars. As another data point I think we're the second biggest RenaultSport market in the world!

All orders of the 230 and 4x4 Vrs have been closed in the UK since August ( 5th I think )

No point buying 4x4 vrs next to Superb 280 Sportline anyway.

Apart from the even worse depreciation!

er.. apart from the small matter of the cost? 280ps 4x4 superb sportline is £35k before you add any options - that's a LOT more than any octavia.

Or actually  £27.500 - £29,000 for a Superb 2.0tsi 280ps DSG 4x4 from car discounters as Skoda RRP's are just something Main Dealers talk about.

'Sportsline' trim might move more cars, they might move no quicker than the same drivetrain with a different name, ie L&K.

*SE L Executive 2.0 TSI 280 ps DSG 4x4 Superb £26,000*

Skoda's in UK the cars that depreciate before you even buy them, Like SEAT, like VW's.

Pay what they really cost not what Dealerships want, or just wait a little and they get even cheaper,

as long as the GBP does not fall through the floor.

What does the interior look like?

That's always been the weak point on Seats for me.

cynical part of me thinks they may drop the vRS as a specific "hot" version, and just have an Octavia Sportline which you can get with many different engines, but maybe including some warmer ones which are only available in that trim level, or Sportline and L&K

It has always surprised me that seat have been given the green light to have an engine as powerful as the equivalent VW or AUDI yet skoda get passed over.

I think a 225bhp Octavia mk1, 240bhp p/f/l or 265bhp f/l mk2 or 280bhp mk3 would make for some interesting competition across the brands.

Very nice, just hope they sort out the dire interior and it'll be winner winner chicken dinner in my books (not that I could afford one)

I am totally confused as to what people want with the interiors as they are get in a drive cars, have smiles per miles for not a lot of money.

For a fancy interior you can pay plenty at Audi or VW and get that and the same go, or pay too much at Skoda and get so so interior and little go go.

If vrs 280 4x4 comes out it will cost more as well, probably not too far off Superb with same specs, I guess 3/4 k. Superb also has more toys and better materials / sound insulation. Whether somebody can afford the difference, its another story.

Less the quality and more the drabness that puts me off. VW interiors are pretty dreary too.

Are Mazda s hilarious!! Or orgasmic!!

I like interiors like a Black Hole of Calcutta.  Any Black hole actually, which is why the Mk2 Fabia vRS appealed so much!

Surprisingly good.

Orgasmic might be pushing it
