Fabia key locking issue

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, my skoda fabia mk1 2002 hatchback has a central locking issue.

First of all, i got the car with the remote control keys not working, i can only lock and unlock the car manually using the key in drivers lock.

I tried to reset the keys and synchronize but no luck.

The micro switch in the drivers lock that operates the door light was not working either, so i decided to buy a whole new lock module (drivers side)

I installed the new lock module, the light switch now works BUT anything can unlock the car! locking the car manually (turn key to left) is no problem but you can stick anything into the lock and turn it slightly to the right and the whole car will unlock. You can tap the key to the right and it unlocks, i can even use my house key!

Also the keys are not synchronizing either.

Any ideas? Thank you!

Was the new locking unit a genuine Skoda one or a cheap one?

Hmmm, that's probably the reason.

Ok thank you

I've ordered two rear locks from ebay. Both faulty from day one! Replaced and now again, one of them need to be replaced.... They look identical to genuine but quality is s@#t!!!
