Enable Coming home / Leaving home lights functionality

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I have found a tutorial on how to change CH/LH to foglights, however my Octavia doesn't have the CH/LH functionality enabled by default - it's not visible in Bolera radio infotainment under the lights options. Does anyone know how to enable CH/LH in the first place? - Later I would like to enable the front fog lights and rear LED DLRS for CH/LH.

My Skoda is 1.2 - 2013 MK3 Ambition.

Thanks!

Does your car come with RLHS sensor? do you have auto lights?

I don't have auto lights.

I managed to make the menu appear and set the functionality for coming home to foglights, however those dont turn on. I saw somewhere that there I must also enable such functionality in foglights and also rear LEDs (or DLRs). Any suggested adaptation that I must do on the lights part to enable coming home functionality?

I also found out that if I don't have the sensor, then only CH function can be enabled.

Any luck on this one?

Im currently stuck on the part where I should enable the lights CH functionality. I havent found any info on where to enable this. As far as for the enabling logic goes, just search for Coming home Verbaustatus (something like that) and enable it to foglights

I managed to enable both CH and LH function on my friends car (no AUTO lights), menu items appeared, etc.

Unfortunately only LH worked, there was no chance to get CH working.

We even tried changing the mode from 'automatic' to 'manual' (works on some previous platforms by flashing the main beams after ignition OFF), but no success.

We ended up disabling CH so he has only LH option now in infotainment menu and it works (lights are always ON when unlocking the car).

@aki78 mind to share the solution? I might have swapped CH for LH. As far as I know only one of these can work as the other requires the light sensor. So my goal is to make atleast one of these functions work (whichever is possible). Can you please share te solution / changes needed to enable LH?

For CH, after switching off the engine, hold the high beam for a short while.

once you open the door, the lights will be on for the duration set.

for LH, needs the sensor.

i followed this to retrofit.

My apologies - it seems my memory has started to fail. :o

I spoke to my friend and I also verified the log file.

So...in summary:

LH doesn't work at all if you don't have AUTO lights.

CH works but only in manual mode by flashing the high beams after ignition OFF (and before opening the driver's door).

This coding should work for you.

Sorry for the wrong info. :notme:

@aki78 the adaptations works for CH! I think I already set it up correctly the first time and thought that the lights would turn on automatically ^^. When flashing high beams it now works without any issues! Thanks!

Good news then. :)

My car didn't come with the light sensor on the windscreen. I only had humidity sensor.

I have done the retrofit to a RLFS sensor (rain, light, humidity). Retrofit an auto light switch.

Added a cable between light switch and BCM.

Auto wiper works fine.

Humidity is fine.

Auto light works fine when key is in car and when car is running.

The only thing I couldn't get it was the auto CH/LH lights. I have enabled the CH / LH menu in bolero. Have enabled comfort illumination for CH  LH from vcds.

I still need to flash the high beam to get CH lights. My headlights wouldn't light up when I unlock the car even in AUTO mode.

I am not sure what am I missing in terms of coding. How should I troubleshoot?

Check the following adaptation channels and please report back. :)

yes i have enabled all these.

i have privately messaged you the full list of my channel 9 maps. hope to seek your expertise in this :)

CH/LH problem solved with these adaptation channels:

'IDE04926-ENG116608-Comfort illumination-Helligkeitsschwelle Forward-Messung' - '46400 lx'
'IDE04926-ENG116605-Comfort illumination-Helligkeitsschwelle Infrarot-Messung' - '12 lx'

It seems that these channels are set to '0' on vehicles with no AUTO lights from factory.
