Buying A Fabia Vrs

Featured Replies

Im about to buy one........

My local dealer has a silver one, no miles, sunroof, climate control, cruise control. 11'950 otr

Or..

Red. Stock. Basic. No options Fabia v_RS 11'150 otr

Opinions please.

It depends really.. personally id go for the silver one :)

current waiting list for a factory one is almost 4 months!!!!

First one sounds good IMHO, if you can perhaps get the dealer to throw in some rubber mats and a full tank of diesel.

Welcome to the site, BTW. :D

They come with mats as standard.. with embroidered vRS logo :D

Oops - scratch that then. :D

How about a coat of that "stuff" that's supposed to protect the car for a few years.

OR, as a last resort go in with

Thanks very much !

Im leaning towards the silver one in a big way.

The black magic demo car i was hoping to get ended up being sold

Is it true, about the handling of the fabia vRS being a bit nasty ? Ive not driven one yet.

Ive had a 90 horse mk3 golf tdi for a few years and love the tdi engine........ so the fabia seemed like a good value choice..... for what it does on paper.

But then ive seen these bad reviews. What do you think

dont bother with that either.. save the money and get a Swissol starter kit. :) and some truly excellent MultiClean 2

Silver = nice, and the handling issues are only noticeable to those who are used to better. It won't take much to get a vRS Fabia handling very well indeed, like I kind of feel my TDI is right now.

The bad reviews are normally because the reporters expect something like a 1.8T from anything bearing the RS hallmark, but it goes deeper than that! I think it's best to get some feedback from those who have owned from of these cars for a couple of months now. (and ignore the papers)

Not too worried about cleaning it yet... got that covered ok.

Just wondering about the reportedly nasty handling:)

ALso wondering why the rear brakes need to be so big  theres no weight in the back at all. Hope the fronts are seriously biased.

Black magic is *the* colour to have (not that im biased of course) :D

i love the handling of the vRS. apparenlty it can oversteer a bit when pushing really hard, but i havent really experienced it and im told its very progressive and controllable.

have a read of the reviews in the review section :)

also.. dont belive what it does on paper... its a total beast on the rd.. move over bmws!

Give me some of that !

I drove a colleagues bora sport 130 and thought that was quick. A fabia is as big as my thumbnail ! The cheapest speed is weightloss ;)

Thats even before its remapped..

hello 185bhp and 320lb/ft

:drive1:

Third gear is fantastic - it just pulls forever.

Dead cheap to run too.

Bloody dealer has gone and sold them both. Went there this PM after work and theyre both gone. The salesman told me last friday these were the last they were getting until after the new year but........

Today they say theyre buying 2 from another dealer....... due in next week. BOTH YELLOW

No f****n way am i buying a YELLOW one.

Anyone know of a dealer with a black or silver one 'IN' or 'DUE IN' and cruise control would be a big bonus.

Your dealer should be-able to use his computer to tell you if there are any available in the country... or maybe Ladi Loki can help... (try bribing her with some gin) :D

if only they would do a combi :(

Ahh - another convert. Colin - have you tried Onyx wax on the side and rear windows? The water just rolls off above 40mph leaving a nice clean surface.

Would that be like "water off a duck's back?" :D

I'll look into Onyx was when I'm next shopping about. Sounds like good stuff to me.

BTW OTR price of Fabia vRS is

May be wrong on the price ;) oops. Rugby dealer may still have there Red one in, oh and Cruise is a dealer fit option not a Skoda factory fit option so that dont matter you can get it done ;)

It's part of the Swissol starter kit, Jason. I've hardly made a dent in mine since Mark visited in the summer. However, some more MultiClean 2 will need to be ordered soon. Mrs fen has discovered how good it is at cleaning in the house too!!
