1.2 thermostat issue

Featured Replies

My daughter has a 1.2 12v fabia. she is getting no heat from heater, having searched here i suspect thermostat broken or missing, i have got a new one but it doesnt look like i expceted it to! 3 pieces. one spring ,1 brass body which i assume is the stat and a plastic disc. i have searched for images of the stat location but to no avail. I am going to visit to  try and fix it this weekend, anyone know if its simple, will ordinary hand tools spanners etc be enough or do i need more?

cheers in advance

The coolant regulator housing is on the nearside end of the head.

It looks like the illustration in the bottom right hand side of this page: http://www.realoem.me/Skoda/CZ/FAB/2005/453/R/1/121/121075 or in the flesh, like this .

As a minimum, you should have items 24 and 25, stat and o-ring.

What part numbers are the bits you have? Where from? Got a photo?

Three Torx screws hold the cover on as far as I recall, can't remember the size, poss T25 or T30?

Another possibility for no heat in cabin is the air flap motor in the cabin playing up, so failing to direct incoming air through the matrix as requested.  Check the temperature of both hoses going through the bulkhead from engine bay to the matrix, to confirm or otherwise flow of hot coolant to, and through the matrix.
