Fuse tap in the fusebox, about 1.2-4m cable runs down behind the pedals and behind the lower trim panel on the center console. On the end of the cable is a cigarette lighter adapter. I've then plugged in my trusty QuickCharge 3.0 high power usb charger. I've then put in the USB3.0 extension cables. I've used USB3.0 as it's designed to take a higher current. 

 

Next time I put in the other cable I'll photo the install.

Youve misunderstood my comment. I have mounted the power supply adapter in the fuse box area and the cable is connected to this. 

Fair enough.  I have no kids to worry about, (all grown up now), so it's no bother for me.

Just buy a shallow height 12v USB power socket. Fits in the ashtray in front no bother (along with the USB cable), meaning you can still slide the cover over.
