What kind of new design can we see in future Skodas? Who will be Skodas new Chiefdesigner? Now I understand the ugly move on the FL octavia better. 

 

Interesting he has moved. I guess its a good move for him, following in the steps of Chris Bangle etc. Probably more money and prestige of working for BMW.

 

Will BMWs start to look like Skodas?....lol

 

Will leave a big void at Skoda, he has styled most of the models we see today including our Octavia.

His imminent departure may explain his underwhelming performance at the launch of the facelift - he didn't appear at all enthusiastic or proud of his efforts......

Two lines of thought here.

 

1: He knew he was leaving so didn't bother putting in the effort for the facelift.

2: He looked at the facelift after completion and thought he'd better leave before he got sacked.

Ah, the Czech version of "I'll get me coat......"

Well most BMWs have had "4 eyes forward" so he should be right at home 

He's taken the well liked O3 front end and given it the same visual appeal as sloth (from the goonies) face. 

I quite like the facelifted look, a bit like old Mercedes e-class

Or perhaps ol' Jozef was hungover when designing it.

Hopefully Skoda can poach an Alfa designer - the new Giulia is a peach IMO, a friend blagged a Quadrafoglio for a couple of days recently... 

There is no polite way of saying it, but the facelift is f***ing flugly!!

 

I think he was drunk from the success of the kodiaq and that night, he thought "sure I'm drunk but let's just do the octavia". Email was sent to press team.

 

Next morning like so many of us, he realised that drunk messaging is never a good idea.

I don't like the Merc and the Skoda is worse. At least the Merc headlights are aligned.

Hopefully his replacement won't pick up and continue where Kaban left off; with the Octavia face-lift!
