Amundsen MIB 2 skipping tracks on Start-Stop resume

Featured Replies

I've got an Amundsen MIB2 system in my 2016 VRS. My music library is on an SD card (SanDisk Ultra 128GB).

I've noticed recently that if I'm playing music from the SD card when the car restarts its engine after a Start-Stop, the system skips to the next track. It doesn't do this every time, but perhaps about 30% of engine starts will cause this to happen.

Has anyone else experienced this, and is there an update that might fix it?

Unit information is

Hardware: H24

Software: 0245

Yes.

Exactly the same issue. I think I  have a 64gb plugged in.

Randomly jumps a track on S/S.

2016 vRS.

Glad it's not jusy me!

That has to be the weirdest fault I've ever heard of! I have to assume it's a power issue as I can see how else S/S would interfere with audio playback!

I was guessing power too, although there's no noticeable pause or delay which I would have expected from a drop in voltage. I'm glad I'm not the only one with the problem, I'll raise it with the dealer when my car is next in.

Hi there, I'm having the same issue in my 2016 Octavia. Dealer was somewhat puzzled by it and not too motivated to try to solve the issue. I found that after an auto stop, either the radio would skip stations or the song from my bluetooth would skip, depending on what I was listening to at the time. This was intermittent and happened about 50% of the time. I did notice recently however that this only ever happens if I have the current radio station or song displayed above the steering wheel. If it is selected on the console and something else like speed is above the steering wheel then this is not an issue. Hope this helps in the short term. If anyone gets to the root of the problem please post!

I normally have my Maxidot showing one of the Driving Data pages (eg. current speed, range, fuel consumption etc.)  I sometimes find that it changes the page it's displaying when my Stop/Start resumes.  I suspect something is making the car think the scrollwheel on the right hand side of the steering wheel has moved up or down by one click.

I think you are having the same issue, it's just presenting itself as a different symptom because you have music displayed on your Maxidot.  With music displayed, the Maxidot scrollwheel allows you to skip track.  So, if the car thinks the wheel has moved, then the music track will be skipped.

I haven't tried to work out how to fix this issue with the scrollwheel wheel.  The first thing to try is probably to change the cluster of switches on the right hand side of the steering wheel.  If that doesn't help then it's probably going to be a tricky problem to fix.

Sadly nothing - when I mentioned it to my dealer they told me they had applied a firmware update, but it does still happen occasionally.

My workaround to stop my music being interfered with is to set the maxidot display to something other than music information.

just to make sure, any chance you installed in your car a pedal box  or something similar?

that the only adjustment i made for the car since it start to happen, if its a power issue i suppose it could be connected .
