Door Card Clips.

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of taking the drivers side door card off, most people say that more often than not, the clips break.

Looked on e-bay and there are different ones on there for Skoda's. Will they all do the same job ?

Took mine off yesterday and only one broke. And it was the only one that was different to the rest of them that broke (middle clip at the rearmost end of the door).

Thanks Guy's. HMR, anything I should be aware of when taking bits off ?

There's nothing overly complicated to watch out for. The outer face of the door pull handle comes off with a good pull with a trim tool to reveal two bigger bolts which including the two small screws at the bottom of the door card are really all that secure it to the door. The handle cover needs a good firm press to go back into place.

When you release the card from the door (the top lip of mine had a good grip of the rubber window strip and needed a good wiggle to get free) you will need to unclip the wires for the window switch, the interior motion sensor switch, the immobiliser tell-tale (the connector is handily, not, hidden inside a foam tube down near the door and the catch on the connector works the wrong way round) and you'll have to unclip the door pull cable.

All of the wiring loom, with the exception of where it enters the door and where the last connector goes to the door lock, is behind the door card. The speaker is riveted to the door and the window mechanism is bolted to a panel sealed to the door.

Hope this helps you.
