Is now the right time to order a new Yeti 1.2 TSI Drive ?

Featured Replies

Got mine on Saturday one thing that's different from 15 plate yeti se. Door cards are all plastic no fabric on the inlays might be because its the outdoor and not the city. not liking the spare wheel less boot space headlights are not the same got like a black plastic top piece.

This was the last Moon white

I got the dealer to swap my spare wheel to the new car. Have done this twice now. No problem.

I think he said he has the spare wheel and doesn't want it.

Probably easy to do arrange a swap with some cash your way with a Yeti owner without the spare but wanting one.

I could have had my car two weeks earlier if I'd have taken a spare wheel but would rather not have it seeing how much boot space it took up.

Mine came with the spare and I brought it and the toolkit home. the dealer gave me the lower floor and gunk so the spare now sits in the garage and I have the full size boot.

You might want to think about investing £10 in a Slime tyre sealant kit, product has good reviews and is water soluble so reputedly easy to wash out of a tyre when it is properly repaired. Gunk that comes with the Yeti is much more difficult to remove and many tyre repair establishments won't touch tyres sealed with the gunk and insist on selling you a new tyre.

Since Skoda supplied me with Nexen budget tyres I am considering replacing all 4 so a puncture would provide a handy excuse!

The Nexen tyres are not as bad as you think! They got good reviews on the AutoExpress tests and while not being "the best" were certainly not the worst either. Why not invest in a set of Michelin Cross Climates on steel wheels for the winter and at least get your moneys worth from the Nexen's? When they wear out transfer the Michelins to the alloys and sell on the steel wheels.

Good thinking!

I collected my 1.2 TSI SE Drive in Pacific Blue on Thursday. Delighted so far, it seems quieter than my first Yeti, maybe a bit more soundproofing, haven't looked under the bonnet yet!

Yes, mine came with Nexen tyres as well, but it doesn't bother me to be honest, the ride is excellent, so as long as the fronts do 20K for me that's fine.

Last 1.2 TSI SE Drive in Pacific Blue apparently, will do photo when it's dried up a bit after last nights storm.

Enjoy your Yetis.....

Under the bonnet no soundproofing and no engine cover with TSI on it. Mine came with goodyear tyres

I believe you can add the underbonnet sound insulation from the diesel car to the petrol one. I think I saw it on the Superskoda site?

The thing that struck me when first opening the bonnet was a lack of gas struts. My first car, a poverty spec 1.4 Seat Leon, had them in 2002 so it was a shock when opening a bonnet of a £22k car in 2017 to almost be hit in the head when it fell back down! Thankfully as it's a lease I will only be in there to top up fluids so not that bothered. If it was my car I'd be fitting gas struts pronto.
