    Picked mine up today

  • So I picked mine up this morning, it’s a brilliant car love it already. Only done 50 miles and traffic was heavy but it ticks all the boxes for me.

Yep im also slightly disappointed.

Funny isn't it, that we get upset that our cars dont fart

No. It's due to factory having filled production for the next 20 plus weeks. Remember all Octavias regardless of spec form the whole of Europe are built on one line and new orders join the back of the queue. You can make it slightly shorter by picking less desirable options like a manual diesel but it wont make that much of a difference.

Very good point. Not something I thought of. I've gone for white DSG and no other options. Will see in the coming weeks the build date etc.

(From now on it will be refered to as DSG Fart)

So lets continue that comment about the farting, this is actually a big deal. Traffic lights, no cars, open road, sport mode floor it (in DSG) are we saying its not going to fart!?

I need a few more confirmations before I start a protest outside my local Skoda, I cant believe that surely.

Literally every advertisement or review video it is CLEARLY present.

Does it "supposedly" only do this on the DSG?

If so I will never know!

Exactly what I was thinking. I have never ever heard it, even with all 4 windows down on a quiet road!

The 'whoosh' noise from the turbo is nice though

I guess everyone isn't very busy in work haha

Mine doesn't either. Perhaps fart expectations differ?!

I try to simulate it by passing gas every gear change but it makes for a unhappy journey for all passengers

My Audi TT 230 Quattro only farted on sport on the gearbox and above 4k revs but when it went it was crazy loud. Like rifle shots, I loved that car.

hmmm, this isn't sounding wonderful.

Mpg seems to be improving alot. Just got this after a spiritied drive home. It was showing 37.8 but i had been sitting in the services for a while.

Showing as eco mode though isn't it?

Yup but doesnt mean you have to drive like a nun

I can only describe the noise as a fart when the missis asks why is that Golf R making that noise.

Strange to see the YouTube videos with the 245s farting away.

37mpg I can cope with that too.

True but I'd expect Mpg to be better using eco.  Good Mpg though. I've not touched Eco whatsoever since I tried it for first time as it isn't responsive enough.... Understandably!

Didn't realise you had one already?

How are you finding it so far?

I reckon on a gentle commute i could get 40 plus which i think is good for a 250bhp auto with 350 miles on it

Would be great considering bhp agree. I just don't know if I could do a gentle commute all the way.... No self control
