Anybody own high milage 2.0tfsi vrs ?

Featured Replies

Hello , looking at buying a vrs , I've seen a that a like which are on high milage but should I buy them or should they be taken of the list ?

Is 138000 miles too much for a 2008 2.0tfsi in other words what are the chances of it failing soon ?

Also is 150000 miles too much for a 2006 2.0tdi ? For the same reason .

Reason I ask is because the 2.0tfsi I really like because the way it looks with the all leather seats ,

And the diesel is just a lot cheaper but is still in good condition .

There are lower Milages ones out there for about the same price as the 2.0tfsi mentioned , but I like this one better for the spec and colour etc .

So basically just want to know how other owners are getting on if they have higher Milages cars

Hi, I have had a 57 plate 2.0 TFSI from new and now have around 217k miles on. I have had no major issues so far (see attached spreadsheet) which shows work done and mileage.

The evap issue was a red herring as when checked out there was no issue and was remedied by Skoda dealer by resetting the engine management system.

Car still drives well and looks good and I have no reason to change it.

Hope this helps?

This is very encouraging as mine has just over 91k miles on the clock and I intend to keep it for a while yet.  I have done a few modifications though, so maybe this will affect how long certain components last?

I must admit that I was tempted with an engine remap however I think that if I had one know it would just show up any weakness or worn parts.

My 2 litre lump diesel has just gone past the 223,000 mile mark and don't have any problem yet. Touch wood!

Never had no dpf problems ?

I think most cars get written off before they have chance to see that sort of milage or because they are on high milage they get written off , its not that engines aren't capable of doing them sort of miles

nope!

assume you've had a clutch or 2/3 and all the usual's changed with that mileage

Hi, still on the original clutch. One of the reasons why I haven't had it chipped (only considered it recently) as I would imagine that I might have to replace it and upgrade it?

Thats brilliant that. The car looks to have been very reliable for you!

217,000 miles on the original clutch and DMF ...really? I find that very hard to believe.

wouldn't need to upgrade your clutch If chipping but if it is original definitely would need replacing

Hi, definitely original clutch. I have had the car from new. I am guessing longevity down to a far proportion of motorway mileage although it is one of the items that I am expecting will need replacing sooner rather than later.

Thanks for the advice on the clutch I may possible reconsider an engine remap when I replace the clutch if it doesn't need an upgraded part.

that's amazing then, maybe it's the torque on tdi's that knackers the clutch??

I have a 2.0tdi Scout with 165k miles on the original clutch and flywheel, so some can run to a decent mileage.

I have an 06 tfsi (stage 1) with 96k on the clock. Still going strong on original clutch.;)
