VCDS /Vag Com request

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

MOT is up on the Fabia, car is a 2008 1.2

I had to change a few bulbs the other night, and also the fuse for the rear offside tail lights.  Anyway I couldn't figure out the diagram on the fuse box and turns out I pulled out the fuse for the instrument cluster ( I think).... the lights when off anyway, and since then the airbag light has been on.

I have a handheld code reader which came back with "instrument cluster" -  i forget the exact code number now...

I tried taking battery off, moving connectors under the seats (incase) but to no avail, when key is turned to P2, the light goes out briefly, then re illuminates.

If someone local to Worcester / Birmingham / Redditch is available with vagcom / vcds / or the knowhow,  either Friday (tomorrow) night or Sunday and fancies helping out, I can provide beer / wine / for your time?

Any help hugely appreciated. MOT is in exactly 1 week and every year something happens like this,

Regards

Rob

Although I can't help unless you want to travel to Newcastle, I can help put your mind at rest.

when you've unplugged the instrument clusters fuse, it has lost connection with the car so ABS module and airbag module fault will probably be logged.

They just need clearing off and can be done with loads of software, even your local garage with a snap-on computer should clear them :)

I'll be back in Hinckley Sunday evening if that helps?

Had this once... My local Skud dealer shoved in a remote doodle-whatsit and fiddled on the computer for ten mins to put the light out. No charge as I purchased the car there and had servicing done there too. Shame they disappeared!

sorry guys only just seen the replies... I had my mobile mechanic come and sort it with his computer... no charge as I sort his webpage out ;)

I have since bought a bluetooth adapter which reads the cars and provides live information... which is a bit funky.

thanks all.
