May I know on what cable you purchased and where exactly you bolted this in?

Anywhere on the engine will do, i think he put it on a bolt securing the radiator thermostat.

  • If you don't already have a digital voltmeter and don't mind spending £28 on getting one, this has a DC current clamp that will help in finding how much the battery is draining, whilst you remove fuse

  • Are you able to share what firmware you used?

  • There are published tables giving mV across each value of each size of fuse per A or mA of current. This is the basis of the method. Go here:

Fixed my charging.

Used new, extra 170A cable.

One side fixed to frame where a rubber bush for the plastic lid is (see picture) and another end straight to battery.

Charging from 13.2v jumped to 14.5v.

With full load 14.1v.

Brilliant.

Love you guys.

There must be an earthing strap missing, I have searched under the car when i changed the dsg oil and did not find one.

Going to garage today to find out what's wrong with the earthing strap to fix it.

But I'll leave the extra cable in place just to make sure it's working.
