I have 2012 superb diesel and my oil light is beeping and flashing red every few minutes, oil levels are ok and don’t know what’s wrong I’ve even replaced oil pressure switch, any ideas welcome, thanks in advance

According to the diagram I'm looking at the pressure sensor is a single wire fixed pressure switch type sensor, grounded to the block. If you've not had any other problems than this you can assume the block ground is good. Try unplugging it and seeing if the light always remains on. You could also try the risky method of connecting the single pin in the connector to ground and seeing if that eliminates the light at all.

Anyway, as you have fitted a new sensor (assuming it is the right type and not broken when you got it) it is probably a connector, wiring or instrument panel issue.

If it’s an instrument panel issue what can be done

That would depend on what the instrument panels are like on this car.

Worst case, needs replacing; best case, it isn't the panel.

In between, maybe a broken track or solder joint can be fixed.

Get someone to check the "actual" oil pressure - just in case it's genuine

At last Big john gives the most sensible answer. I would turn my engine off the second I saw an oil warning light come on and have it checked.

every second of an engine running with low or no oil pressure is damage being done.

2012, but how many km/miles covered.

When was the oil and filter changed last,

and is it VW 507 00 spec oil for sure, and the oil filter not tightened up too much?

hello deco, would not drive it until you find out what is causing the issue. could damage the engine, have you had your emissions done yet deco, i have and all is ok for now, but i do find the vehicle has more grunt, and i can hear and feel the difference on acceleration, albit, it is a 4x4 superb, i love my skoda, it is so roomy, quiet, powerful, and comfortable, as well as good looking, it is in cappuccino beige,  i used to have the octavia Vrs in white, but i changed it for the superb to tow my caravan, but two weeks later i sold the Vrs to go back to a motorhome pictures supplied, the Vrs only had 9300 mls on it, i love that one to, these cars now are as good as any i have driven in my 55 years of driving.
