Automatic parking sensor activation

Featured Replies

There is an option in the 'parking' menu for the sensors to automatically activate if you drive close to an object forwards at low speed.  That sounds like a good idea, but I find the sensors keep activating when I don't want them to on busy, narrow roads.  I've tried turning the option off, but it seems to turn on again automatically the next time I start the engine.

Has anyone managed to get their car to remember this setting?

As with all safety systems, they all reset themselves when it is switched back on. It's partially a liability thing

You have to choose to switch them  off as if something goes wrong that they could have prevented, the onus is on you for turning it off, rather than them for not switching it on in the first place.

The start stop is the same because of emissions compliance .

Saying that there is probably a way with vcp to switch it the other way around as it can alter the software from what I read, but probably not with vcds.
