Fabia vRS Questions.......

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and this is my first dabble on the Briskoda forums......

I've currently got a Polo GTi but after three years of having the Polo I'm thinking about going for a Fabia vRS in the next couple of months and wanted to ask a couple of questions to present owners.............

1. In reality how easy to look after are the seats??? Is it something you have to keep on top of or am i just worrying about nothing with regard to keeping them clean???

2. Has anybody replaced the black door handles with body coloured one's??? And if so were they Skoda fitted or did you get them sprayed / fitted elsewhere???

3. There was another one but i've forgot what it was now that i've come to posting on the forum!!!!!!! :o :O :o

Cheers

Dave.

Hi Dave

Welcome to Briskoda :wavey:

Don't worry about the seats mine have done 48,500 miles, they do get dity but I clean mine easily with Vanish mousse or the like.

Door handles can be bought in primer from your local Skoda Stealer and painted either by you or local bodyshop. Likewise your stealer will fit them for you I would guess or you could have a stab yourself. There are one or two people on here who could help out with the technical know how;)

Hope this helps

Has anybody replaced the black door handles with body coloured one's??? And if so were they Skoda fitted or did you get them sprayed / fitted elsewhere???

Buy a black car - ta da, job done :D

Hello Wavey :orb_wave:

1. I have done 10000 miles in mine over the last three months and the only mark I have on any of mine is a cheesburger stain on the passanger seat. I hire a Rug Doctor every 4 months or so and it will get the once over the same time I do the house. 1001 Carpet cleaner is good for the meantime.

2. If you want matching handles, get the black one ;) You can get covers for the handles. Do a google search for Milotech.

3. I am sure you'll remember at somepoint

8000 miles on my vrs and have only had to clean the seats once.....mainly because my 8 year old son sat in the back with muddy shoes and thought to put them on the back of the front seats. They cleaned up really well with a little of that foamy carpet shampoo stuff, and are as good as new. Go for the VRS mate! One of my friends has the polo GTI and he wants a furby!

Hi

17000 miles since October in mine. The car is for driving instruction use, so sees both front seats occupied most of the time. I dont let soap dodgers in though. Still looks fresh and clean inside and much to my surprise I have not had to valet yet.

Go for it.

Chris

40,000 on my vRS and no dirt on the seats at all :D, that'll be the leather then ;) have a search for seat surgeons on here they do a great member discount and the people who have had it seem fairly happy.

Probably a pretty worthwhile mod if you are keeping the car for a while :)

oh aye

Welcome to the forums

Did someone mention cow skin??? :D

i have chrome handle covers i brought off flebay and they look alright, ive not cleaned my seats either after 34k but the ex could do with cleaning hers the messy sod

Thanks for the replies guys....... I'm glad the seats are not too hard to look after....... As for the handles.... I asked because i like the look of the silver car as it shows off the front body kit very nicely but i also think the black makes the car look more menacing..... I was originally gonna go for the silver... hence me asking the question.... but am pretty certain if i go for the vRS i'll go for the black and then get the rear windows tinted as well.

As for question 3 it's still lost in the abyss i'm afraid..... :o :O :o

My memory isn't like a sieve..... more just like a bloody big hole!!!!! :)

Just been lookin' on drivethedeal.com, (Pleasures of workin' nights), and managed to get the Fabia vRS in Black Pearl with Cruise control, xenons, air bag switch, side a/bags & 3rd headrest for 12,311 crisp green sheets..... Don't think i'll get a dealer to beat that but might get one to match it.......... you never know.

Cheers

Dave.

1. i've had mine leathered so a quick wipe with a damp cloth brings them up as new :)

2. i bought a spare set of handles from a breakers and had them colour coded ( bl88dy bodyshop did them VW reflex silver so the colours slightly out) - i did have some chrome covers on the black handles but didn't like them

3. ..............................

1: Skotchguard, simple as that. The day I got mine i called into B&Q and picked up two cans of skotchguard, sprayed front and back seats and left till the morning. Since then I've done 7000miles and the worst stain I got was thick black brack dust all over the front seat (never kneel on your seats when you've been changing your pads and wiping your hands on your trousers). Came off no probs with a damp sponge and a bit of soap.

2: No idea about door handles, can't say it bothers me. Easiest option is just to go for a black one, don't worry about black getting mucky with a short backside and straight exahust and no mud flaps any colour gets filthy within a few miles anyway.

3. Yes.

Seats can be a pain but the performance far outways it!!

I'd go for the scotch guard

Black's a good choice :D

Got the car done by the stealers before picking it up, has made a difference.

If the car get's too dirty on the inside I get it valeted at a discount at work, and that guy does a good job cleaning the seats too.

In fairness it hasn't been too bad, 32k on the clocks near enough now and most of the time stuff just wipes straight off :)
