Battery swap

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I think it's time for a new battery for my 2008 Octavia 1.9TDI

Will probably go to motor factors to get a replacement.

Is there anything I should be aware of during the swap? Any time limits or issues with radio code or alarm?

Thanks for any advice.

Olivia.

Normally a clever electrician should not leave the vehicle without current.

What I mean is that the car poles should be connected in parallel with another battery during the swap, remove the old, and so nothing will happen...

Car will not understand the battery replacement at all.

Just tell it to the tech who's going to do that to have in mind.

No any errors, no any codes lost and settings/adjustments remain as good.

Radio coded to car so code not usually needed. Replaced my own with larger capacity one like type 100 off eBay. No issues except tight fit. Plenty of threads on here about it.

I have a 12v Jump Starter Pack, would this work to keep voltage to the battery clamps during the removal and install?

Thanks.

No need just swap it all over car will remember radio codes etc so don’t worry , just done mine , takes 10 min todo
