Lol my bad!

Comfort missing, my favourite.

Second one is Normal.

Sport very rare, too short accelerator pedal, too stiff suspension and hateful sound actuator (maybe I will like it more when VCDS disabling).

Normal if just pootling local or with family in the car, Sport If I want to hoon it but with the DSG in Manual Mode,, Individual mode If I want it in full auto DSG but with the suspension firm (DCC) and better steering Feel. I've tried ECO but that will probably only get a look-in if I need to do a long MWay cruise with now A or B road action

Mine doesn't come out of normal any more.  I'm such a Norman normal :blush

It's been two years and I still haven't bothered to get the sound activator turned off.  Apathy as well :dull:

Gaz

Sport/vrs , "manual" paddles

Individual - sport for everything except aircon in eco and gearbox in normal D / manual mode.

So, are you classed as " Individual " then Gaz

Mine lives in Eco, sorry but it just works for me. Though I was in the car alone today and my route home through Denbighshire took me through 2 sides of the EVO triangle so I was able to whack it in Sport and manual mode and see what it could do. I am impressed, and I also don't understand the hate for the sound symposer; anything to make the car sound less like a diesel has to be a positive, right? Is it just the petrol owners that don't like it, because I can understand that :)

Mine stays in Normal.

I've only tried Sport mode  and that was driving halfway up Mont Ventoux then back down into Bedoin village and I can't say that I noticed any difference at all!

I keep forgetting that you can change modes so haven't tried Eco mode yet. I might give it a go on my next long run to see if it actually makes any noticeable difference to the fuel economy.

Out of interest, what is supposed to change when going into Sport mode with a manual VRS TDi?

I've noticed my right foot gets heavier,

On a vRS TDI the 'Taxi' light on the roof goes out as you select 'Sport'.

Those in the petrol models get scared! If any of you on here drive a blue petrol estate and were in and around Bridlington on Monday I have one word for you. WIMP.

Scared too overtake? Hahahahahaahahah

I'm dissapointed that there are alot of normal Normans on here.

Normans,  the country is full of them, then there are the Peter Plonkers.

Normans,

Those with the need to drive for work, or leisure / pleasure,

keep their licence,

keep the insurance costs low and just drive from a to b on public roads with 60mph NSL's.

I use all the modes but most of the time its in Normal.

Individual is set for motorway use: Engine in ECO steering in Sport.

My 1.4tsi manual does not have any modes to adjust.

I'm probably happy 'cos I don't what I'm missing, but I suspect I am not missing much at all.

@Gerrycan, not really, without either DCC or DSG. I could actually stay in Normal all the time, just to change stiffness of DCC between Comfort and Normal, as Sport I rarely use.

Whichever one it left the factory in :D

I'm for the Eco mode too, as my daily commute is circa 40+ miles depending on where I set out from.  I have set up an individual setting, but it's that long since I used it, I can't remember what the settings were :dull::D

As I'm driving a 1.6tdi DSG and traveling mostly on good A roads and a few twisty B roads on my commute, the Eco suits me and the journey.

I do have the tendancy to pull back on the gear lever from time to time and kick it when passing slower moving traffic. This I find helps to insert the smile in this ere olde face of mine :)

When the girlfriend is in the car she seems to detect sports mode within a nano second and if she doesn't, her daughter does :D

Map 2+3, pedal on Sport+ +3, ESP off in the VCDS, ...you will find me in the nearest hedge!

Normal in my 1.4 TSi DSG hatch.

Eco makes no difference to day-to-day economy, sport makes the car sound (and feel) like a thrashy CVT. If you want to speed up, just bury the pedal and use kick-down.

In fact, I’d willingly dump the drive modes in favour of a more practical bit of kit. Like a spare tyre.

I would run it in sport but haven’t found a way of getting it to change into 6th. Might just be me. Didn’t find any significant economy improvement running in ECO.
