DAB radio stopped working

Featured Replies

Hi, my DAB radio suddenly stopped running. Now when I try to select DAB it just goes straight to an FM station. It's as if the DAB aeriel has just dropped off or something... Do I need to take it to a dealer or can I try resetting the entertainment system/radio?

Thanks in anticipation!

We will need more information. Columbus or Amundsen? What model, what firmware?

I have a simlar problem with my 2017 Superb on the COLUMBUS , DAB is intermittent, sometimes it takes a 5 mins to start up otherwise doesnt work at all...weird.  PS I live in London so should get it without problems.

OK, on further examination, it's a Bolero, according to the manual.

Device part no: 5E0035874A

Hardware: 040

Software: 0421

Does that help at all?

I had a similar problem with my Columbus where it kept losing DAB. Not losing the signal, it just had no DAB at all, I could not find it on the system without rebooting it. This was down to very old firmware and was cured completely by updating the firmware. So the aerial was not at fault, other than the fact that the Octavia aerial is not very good anyway. However, I know nothing about the Bolero units. Hopefully someone can help you.

ive updated to the latest firmware, i was pulling to inspect the connection for the rear camera and im positive the jacks are all firmly in place. Its bugging the hell out of me now as my fave channel is only on DAB and was perfect before i move the unit....

Have you driven the car to another area since it happened (or asked anyone else in the same area with DAB in their car if they've lost signal) - i noticed that last week the  digital signal around my work had gone but where i live (30miles away it was ok) - others at work said they couldn't get Radio X.

Thanks for all of your comments and suggestions.

I've fixed it - by doing a fresh channel scan.

No idea how that works but DAB is back!
