Candy White?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Has anyone seen a Karoq in Candy White yet?

I test drove a 4x4 Auto today and loved it, so much so that I'm ordering one this week.

The dealer has offered me a very good deal on my Mk3 Octavia VRS - more than the settlement value of my PCP and I'm only 18 months into a 42 month PCP! A fair bit more than the book value for trade in too.

I've specified Candy White on an SE-L after comparing a City Go in Candy and a Superb in Moon White, it looked the nicer of the two colours.

But has anyone actually seen a Karoq in one or can find a photo of one? All I can find is Moon White.

Thanks

I think both Moon White and Candy White would look almost the same on the Karoq.

When I went to the Skoda showroom, they had a white Karoq on display next to a white Kodiaq. After spending a good 10 minutes checking out the Karoq, I remarked to my wife that the car's colour was the same Candy White as our Octavia. That's when the salesman corrected me and told us that the Karoq was actually in Moon White and the Kodiaq was in Candy White. Then I took a few steps back from the car and the colour on the Karoq looked a bit different, but still quite close to that of the Kodiaq parked next to it. I thought they would look more different in sunlight. The next day I visited the showroom during the day with a couple of friends. They made the same mistake as I did, until I told them that the cars were in different shades of white. The cars were inside the showroom on both occasions, so perhaps if they were both outside in the sun they would've looked more different.

If you really like Moon White, go for it. Otherwise, I would suggest to stick with Candy White and save some money.

Moon White metallic and Candy White non metallic.

Just to update.

I ordered my vehicle yesterday, been told delivery will potentially be early April but not yet confirmed.

Candy White SE-L 2.0TDI DSG 4x4 with Spare Wheel on a 12,000 mile 4 year PCP.

Now to sort out GAP insurance as the dealer wants £400 for it!

I'd be interested in people's  experience with GAP providers too.  I know some insurance companies will give you 12 months on your standard car insurance.  But there are a couple of companies on Quidco that specialise and seem much cheaper than the dealer.

Surprised they charge extra for the Candy White - was the 'standard' white on my Yeti

They started to charge when white was the in colour. Now they call it special candy white. And charge you £200

I have a Candy White Karoq. Personally I think solid white looks whiter than metallic.

I also have a Candy white one. White get dirty quickly but it looks great when clean and is the easiest colour repair/patch-up when it collects stone-chips, scuffs and scratches. IMO the colour suits the car.

I think the other way candy white is more cream like old gloss paint and moon white has a sort of blue tinge

I'm afraid I would have to argue with you about getting dirty quickly. White is probably one of the colours that appears to stay clean longest. It goes from white to an off white, whereas other colours noticeably change. The first time you really notice how dirty your white car is when you start to wash it.

I agree with this. My wife Candy White Fabia rarely looks dirty. For another few weeks, I have a black car. Serviced and washed today by the dealer, after the 8 mile drive home on wet roads, it already needs another wash. My first and last black car. Candy white has a slight yellowed tinge to it. Wife loves the colour.

The world would be dull if we all held the same opinion. My opinion is that white gets dirtier quicker than any other colour car I have owned. I wash my cars at the same time (typically every-other Sunday). My Race blue Octavia  looks cleaner for longer than my Candy Karoq. Any mud or fly splats are immediately visible on a white car. After rain has dried, dirt rings are more noticeable on the roof and bonnet. I share the same opinion regarding white shirts, white footbals, white shoes, white walls etc. Of course, this is just my view, but based upon honest personal experience.

Former cars / colours

Cortina Mk4 - Multi-colour Blue

Escort XR3i - Light Metalic Blue

Fiesta XR2 - Dark Grey Metalic

Sierra Cosworth - Moonstone Blue Metalic

VW Polo - Navy Blue Solid

Subaru Impreza UK Turbo - Green Metalic

Subaru Impreza WRX STI IV Type R - Rally Blue

VW Beetle (don't ask)  - Metalic Blue

Ford Mondeo - White solid

Fiat Punto - Solid Red

Ford Mondeo -  Dark Metalic Blue

Renault Megane - Silver Metalic

Renault Megane Estate - Dark Grey Metalic

Alfa 147 - Metalic Black

BMW 3-Series Tourer - Black Metalic

Octavia VRS - Race Blue

Karoq - Candy White

...I probably missed one or two in the middle.

What I will say is that white looks great when clean, and it hides scratches better than any other colour. IMO, the best colours to hide dirt are metalic grey's and blue's.

I'll also add that the Subaru WRX STI was the best car of the lot, and the only one I truly regret selling.

That is the exact same reason why I have ordered mine in candy white.

My polo is candy white also, someone hit it in a car park and had the bumper re-spayed and can’t even notice it.

I remember the dent repair man doing a ding on my silver Touran. He got it to the stage where it was nearly fully out but did not really want to progress further. As you stretch the metalwork back into place the bond between the paint layers starts to break down. On dark colours and metalics this is more pronounced and sometimes shows up when the repair has been done. It is unlikely to happen on the white. [all his comments]

For me, its:

Jaguar 340 - Grey

Triumph Spitfire = Red

Triumph TR4A - White

Hillman Imp - White

Hillman Imp - Turquoise

Fiat 128 - White

Fiat 132 - Silver

Ford Escort Mk3 - Red

Ford Cortina Estate - Light Blue

Ford Sierra Estate - Dark Blue

Ford Granada - ?

Peugeot 306 - Red

Peugeot 307 - Silver

VW Golf - Dark Blue

BMW 330d - Dark Grey

BMW 330d - Silver

Kia Sportage - Black

Soon! - Skoda Karoq - Business Grey

Last 6 cars were diesel. Finally back to petrol!

The best colour I have ever had for not looking dirty was Cappuccino Gold, a boring colour but the best lazy washer's colour!

Best I have had for not looking dirty were 2 silver BMW's, a pale blue/green BMW ("moregrun"),  my wifes dark silver VW Up and my Current Superb in Cappuccino Beige.

The cappuccino beige has first place in the wearing dirt well competition.

The worst was some dark blue metallics. Never had white or black - avoided black because of the dark blue experience!

Went for business grey myself after having a black magic Leon and that showing the dirt. Must admit white does look lovely though. Wife’s Fabia is Cappuccino Beige which does hide the dirt well.
