Average age of a Karoq driver

Featured Replies

I am 48 and it's probably the first Skoda that my wife would find acceptable as she can see that it's a Tiguan/Ateca. No way she would have accepted a Yeti so the we are probably bang on the target of the marketing thought process.

37 here. Hopefully won't have turned 38 by the time my karoq turns up!

  • I'm 53 and proud of it.   Kitten and I LOVE our Yeti, the only reason why we're getting rid of it is because it has a diesel engine, and we feel that we will be targeted in the near future

  • I'm 64 and wife is 62.   Bought Yeti for it's practicality, good value and VW underpinnings. Neighbour who has an Evoque said my Yeti was ugly!    My wife has a Mini Cooper S and m

?

So far what is the average age then?

Ages added together divided by how many.     Something the government seem to forget when talking averages.

I'm 61, I like my Karoq 1.0 SE Tech DSG, after a Roomster 105 SE DSG and 2 Yeti's SE/SEL both DSG's. I'm impressed so far.

I seem to be right at the lower end - 26.

Wanted a Tiguan but couldn't justify the considerable extra cost!

well I am 35 and have had a Felicia,Octavia Hatch and Octavia Scout in the past and now on to the Karoq in a few weeks. My wife now has a Fabia (and is of "Similar" age)

I can lower the average  - 25

Knew I couldn't be the only one bringing it down!

A good cross section of ages! Mind you to be controversial the yeti was for the older ones, joking, take those tomatoes out of the tin before you throw them at me!!!!

Im 60, bringing the average back up again..... Its an interesting topic and I'm pleased so many younger than me like the car and ordered it.

I have always been impressed with our first Skoda, an ex-demo Fabia.

I get an average age of 50ish, counting all ages mentioned.  (The "ish" is due to constant recounts )

think we need spread sheet to tally it all up

44 now, who knows how old I will be when it is eventually delivered and I actually  get to drive it

The Average age will likely stay much the same as for all Skoda models as not many will be Taken Without The Owners Consent.

Audi S3, Golf R / any Golf probably the VW Group cars with the lowest average age of drivers as so many are stolen and driven by those too young to hold a driving license.

Less likely to happen with a Karoq or Kodiaq, even a Superb.

Not many will be hired by drivers under 25 year old.

PS

Looking forward to the Average Age of those that manage to Buy / Lease a VW Up GTI in 2018.

Likely up there with that of those that owned / drove a Yeti 2009-2018.

46 here

If you take just 1 main driver then I get just under 49! Blimey I’m going for something much more trendy and youthful next time, wonder if I can cancel on those terms? Mind you by the time I get the car it will be well and truly dated!!!

51 and my first steps into the SUV market (Karoq due this Friday !!), my wife (47) is absolutely gutted that the Yeti is being replaced as she loves hers so much, looks like she's moving away from Skoda for the first time in over 10 years !

Same and you can't even buy a 1.5 Tiguan. The difference like for like is close to £60/month or 25% more. What I also liked is that I could have 17' wheels whereas the Tig SE is on 18'. The VW might be a tiny bit bigger though.

27 here.

Me and my partner have just had a child and my polo gti is just not practical enough for a family of 4.

I was looking for a perfect replacement for a few months and looked into numerous cars to see what suited us for the right price. Came across the Karoq and was very impressed and realised Skoda was part of the Vw group. Test drive was a different world from a low riding, bump attracting and quick hot hatch.

I just knew it was for us and put my order in

I am 52, wife is 51. I guess most of us is middle-aged, but all Karoq drivers have a well-developed sense of what is comfort and quality ;)

Definitely agree. Our other car, a Fabia is everything I want and need out of a second car.

Congratulations on the new arrival Marcus! Your car owning values have changed, quite rightly. And you have chosen well. At 27 I had a Mark3 Escort to ferry around a young family of 4. Ok in its day, but the Karoq is light years away from my second hand orangey red Ford.

Thank you, she was prem too so was difficult but now time to treat ourselves lol.

Exactly, I got the car before we even met so it was a matter of when not if that I needed a change.

Yeah cant beat the price and all the gadgets it has. It is pretty much the same price as my polo (high spec), so couldn’t beat it.

To be honest that wasn’t a bad choice then, my dad had a Grenada Ghia, had a lot of gear on it for it’s time too.

As the Karoq is the replacement for the Yeti I think it now appeals to a younger audience.

I’m 42 and would never have considered a Yeti, I always think of them as something my parents would drive.

My last 2 cars have been the old and new shape Qashqai and dont think I could go back to a “normal” car now.

I‘ve just ordered a 1.5 DSG edition model. Just curious to know the age of people that have bought or ordered the Karoq.

Bought it for the wife and she is 48 but looks  28.

Good point about not getting stolen we are upto 15 Skoda's owned and not one scumbag has ever been tempted to break into one, on my fourth VRS model, slightly more desirable you would think.
