Not quite right:

4100-4300 is around natural daylight. 

5000k is around pure white light.

6000k will have a small blue tinge.

8000k is blue/white.

 

You need to go up to and above around 12000k to start getting purple light. 

 

Depending on power it can alter the colour appearance of a supposedly rated bulb, e.g. a 6000k bulb ran at 55w will appear closer to a 5000k bulb ran at 35w.

 

 

Hard to photograph But this is best I can do, you can see the haze is bluey. 

 

Certainly not a warmer light light like they used to be. 

 

I need to to do a good run with them in but so far I like them.

They are if you are a dealer with a fully equipped workshop or a keen amateur that just happens to have a vehicle lift or inspection pit in their garage!

A jack, wheel off and some torx screwdrivers. That all you need - to repeat. The bumper does NOT have to come off.

That's still a heck of a way from 'easy', and a big backwards step from many previous cars where nothing was required other than a replacement bulb and the ability to open the bonnet.

But way easier than taking the bumper off. 

There is no hatch via the wheel arch, not in this car anyway so it is definitely a bumper off job to easily remove the headlamp and put in the bulbs.

 

I'm still faffing about now. Replaced the wiring loom which was attached to the temperature sensor. One code has gone but I still have that park pilot error.

 

I don't have front PDC so I am a bit stuck now.

 

Just connected my cable to it to scan the faults and reset.

 

Also the ACC is not working, when the bumper was off, I couldn't see anything that would warrant the fault to remain :(

I still don’t see how you’d get your hand through that.  It’s a struggle prizing the retainer clips with the headlight out.

 

Have you got the oil burner, maybe your engine bay is set out differently?

 No the new wire and my VCDS cable cleared the faults.

 

I just changed my mind on the bulbs and whipped the OEM ones back in whilst the bumper was off again!

 

Wont be doing that job again that’s for sure!

 

 

Maybe you would had been better fitting LEDs?

TBH I was thinking that 8000k bulbs don't sound like they'd be Osram or Philips and subsequently "how long will those bulbs last?".  It would have no doubt been soul destroying to have a bulb out warning in a few months only to have to repeat the whole process!
