I'm in a similar position. My current car goes back on 28th of this month and new one is now delayed to 15th April. If it goes back anymore I'll be straight onto Pistonheads looking for a deal available now and cancel this order.

I don't know in my case. I've paid a £250 deposit to get the order through as it is a lease. This is a dealer deposit refundable on delivery. I'm willing to lose that if needs be to get myself in a decent vehicle quicker than they can.

If you are considering cancelling, would need to read the cancellation clauses on the contract you signed,  might be different for each dealer, and some may be able to claim any difference between what you agreed to pay and what they can sell it for when it turns up as there is no reason for Dealer to be out of pocket if its your choice to cancel.

I also suggest you check the delivery dates clause and see if it was an estimate, or contract is conditional on it.

To me it sounds like a component is missing (or batch was faulty) so they haven't been fitted.   However it didn't result in production being deferred.

I suspect the factory would rather they were not sitting taking up space (especially if they are allegedly 200+ cars affected), and of course, are dead money whilst sitting around.  As such they might get fast tracked (or shuffled ahead of other deliveries), so could be moved quickly once completed.  Might still arrive by Easter, too early to tell.

I think SurreyJohn is right

It does sound like a component batch problem in BW8 production - BW9 cars are already leaving the factory apparently

Rather than stop the whole line and fix the problem, Skoda will do it offline when they get suitable bits I guess - but sadly it doesn't look as though they are prepared to divert them from future production - I hope I'm wrong

I think collectively, we should put a lot of pressure on Skoda to expedite both the fix and the subsequent transport to the Dealer

mesicu is months?!

Yes

Jeez. I wonder if that's for CR orders? I'd heard their own citizens can be well behind compared to orders from customers further west.

Thanks John, want to hope for the best seeing your message. But the later posts about the strikes are scaring me!!!

Threatened unlimited strike action at the Czech plants, should it happen, certainly won't help delivery times:

The delivery times as from 6/3/18, according to a Czech forum, are:

Did you get a call from Skoda or your dealer? bW8 means same as me!!!! How can the date they would get could be TBC, does this mean they expect customers to wait without an expected delivery date? It sounds unfair, my dealer said Skoda would call me.. but I still haven't received any call!!!

I am going through the same thing, I even escalated it to customer ralations who called me once on Wednesday and with a promise of further updates the following day, if customer ralations are reading this I’m still waiting!!!!

My call was from my dealer who got the news from the dealer support part of Skoda.  What annoys me is Skoda must have known they didn't have enough parts two weeks ago when the car was being built.  Either that or they have a really shoddy supply chain system.

Well I would imagine if it’s the vario-flex seats, the cars will be waiting and parked up somewhere and when they get the seats from the supplier it’s just a matter of clipping them in. Well we can all live in hope.

They probably operate a “just in time” system so rely on suppliers to get the parts there only when they need them. Otherwise they’d have to sit on mountains of stock.

Actually when I contacted Skoda via chat beginning of this week they said your car is built and is awaiting delivery to port of exit! And today this parts issues call from the dealer... They information system or customer care appears to have conflicting updates!! I still want to believe my dealer was wrong today

Atleast your dealer seems to know more than mine as to me the update is there are missing parts!

I have been told conflicting stories from Skoda uk, one minute it was end of line waiting final checks (2 weeks ago) then it was built waiting delivery to port, now its back on build line waiting checks, and the system still says bw9 status 10.

Absolutely right - though I suspect the real cause right now is probably rather more weather related with parts of Europe suffering severe adverse cpnditions, more so than here in the UK, with resultant production and transport problems affecting j-i-t schedules.

For those awaiting new arrivals, just have patience!

You are probably spot on, was very cold weather, and some snow at that time, so maybe factory making seats is elsewhere and got behind, or had its own transport problems.

What we don’t know is if the problem was delivery of seats, or they weren’t actually made (and are now on backorder) due to lack of components or employees affected by snow

Trucks in that part of the world have to carry snow chains in winter, so don’t get UK style problems where truckers are happy to block main roads for hours
