Just got home from collecting the 280. 

 

I really wasn’t expecting the car to feel so different. At most I was expecting the ‘stop’ and the ‘go’ to be sifgnicantly improved/better but I just wasn’t prepared for how much they would transform the whole feel of the Superb. 

 

I love the colour. Having only seen pics of the MG Sportline, they don’t do it justice. I’m glad I stuck with it. 

 

I’ll get some pics later and do a proper update.  So far, so good and I’m really chuffed with the car and service I received from Arbury Škoda in Leamington Spa. 

 

The service dept swapped my all-season tyres and my upgraded Osram bulbs on to the new car too, which I’m pleased with. Fair enough they got a brand new set of tyres but I didn’t have to pay for a service (400 miles to go when I arrived this morning) and the tyres were Pirelli P7’s anyway so that’s no loss IME.

Anybody got regular service schedule for 280 model? I was looking at used ones and I am wondering how many miles are considered to many for this model?

I’d say not many people who buy one will be high mileage drivers <13-15k miles per year. 

 

Some of the early models may be now getting on for the mileage where DSG boxes need an oil change and maybe a Haldex service on the 4x4 system  but as long as they are both done properly it should be nothing to worry about. 

 

If the car has been serviced (oil change/filters) every year/10k miles then I’m sure they’ll be fine. 

 

Full service history would be a bare minimum requirement so you can be confident the engine has been well maintained and DSG/Haldex have also been maintained as per Škoda spec. 

Shame only the price of used ones is not cheap, unlike Cupra which get rather affordable after a while.
