I have a superb 111 with Kessy - I decided to try out the emergency unlocking - having read up from the user manual I removed the small cover from the drivers door handle - inserted my emergency key with the handle pointing down as per instructions and nothing happened - I tried it with the handle facing up and it worked - useful if you have a flat battery as i did - note you must have your key fob present when unlocking !!!!!

Was the car or key fob battery flat? I tried opening the door with the key and had no problems. I also managed to start the car when the key fob (KESSY) battery was flat using the procedure outlined in the manual.

 

The car battery was flat because I left the dashcam connected whilst on holiday forgetting the 12 volt charging point was permanently live - I had only had the car a week so lesson learnt the hard way
