Sounds about right that time scale...

I ordered in October 2015 and got it in March 2016.

My L&K was ordered 02/01/18 and I am getting it next week 06-03-18 it is a lease car though whether they have more influence

I ordered a Sportline on 1st Feb and have just received a message saying the build date will be during the week beginning the 19th March for delivery all being well the first week of May.

I ordered 22 Dec, at dealer 21 Feb, less than 9 weeks including Christmas/New Year. I noticed the order no had /Q suffix and the car arrived with a green Q sticker in top right of front window. I suspect this signified "Quick" as its a scrappage deal and the terms then were that car had to be registered by 31 Mar.

Delivery is affected by spec and optional extras, I think they had some delays with Beige Upholstery for instance, and I think certain engines. If the build is delayed until wk 22 (28 May) it will be a 2019 model.

I ordered a Superb last week, 1.4Tsi SE Estate in Petrol Blue with a couple of options on it. Dealer checked whilst i was there and quoted a lead time of up to 18 weeks. Said its maybe as ive gone for a petrol the lead time has gone out a bit as everyone is switching back to petrol from diesel.

Ordered mine in late-June, delivered start of October, actually a few weeks earlier than predicted.

Ordered Sportline 220ps Combi with lots of options on 3/1/18 currently build week 14, and delivery anticipated around 23rd April.

You should be fine Nick as to qualify for scrappage new car has to be delivered by 30th June.

When they accepted your order, there is a contract in place that they must honour. So it doesn't really matter if they are late, they cannot refuse/cancel your scrappage.

We ordered our Superb early November 2016 and was at the dealers mid february for march reg. Looks like the wait is a bit shorter now.

Just ordered a Fabia for the wife, expected late May so about the same as yours.

Get everything in writing but be warned, they will still sometimes try to weasel their way out. If its in writing you have proof and that can be used in court.

Same as my Sportline.  Ordered the day before the early November price increase. Collected 03 Mar 17.

I've been quoted 18 weeks on my 280 and 'required date' on the order form is 20th May;  it was ordered 13th Feb

Hi Xman,

Thats exactly what I would have thought. But this was my experience before Christmas when wanting to use the scrappage deal.

Had test drive and wanted to buy a Sportline placing an order late December. The sales guy told me they were warning clients that orders placed then were touch and go whether they would be delivered and registered by the scrappage deadline (I think then it was 31/3/18). I thought that cant be right that if Skoda are late delivering the car I get penalised £4k. So I checked with the sales manager, he confirmed this was the case, I explained I would place an order if I was guaranteed the scrappage, but they could not guarantee so I walked away.

Skoda later extended the scrappage scheme and I was able to place an order in confidence.

It seems crazy to me that if there was a failure in the supply chain and they ran out of wheels, the customer gets his car late and looses £4k too. But this is certainly what the dealer thought at the time as they were disappointed to not get the order, and were trying to come up with other options to do the deal.

I don't think any of this is a concern for Nick or for others with orders in the system. But as we get nearer the 31st May would be wise for others to check carefully with the dealer.

Ordered our 150 Tdi SEL Estate on 17/02/18 and got a provisional build week of Week 13 with Delivery end April or Beginning May.  The dealer apparently get allocated slots (from what they told me), so if they have had lots of factory orders for Superbs their slots may be full for now and yours will likely be at the back of the queue.

Great thing about Bickertons (Sheffield) is they provide an online checker to monitor your order :-D

Anyone know (roughly) what the realistic time scale is for a car that is already in port? (i.e an unregistered stock car already in port)

The dealer simply said "Next month" (ordered last week), but on pressing them further he really didn't know, so just interested in others experience....

AFAIK Skoda *still* don't have an order tracker, I spotted that VW seem to have a fairly decent one!

Just been quoted 16 weeks from Vindis on a petrol blue SE Tech hatch with a few extras. Going to be a long wait..

My dealer told me on 14th Feb that my car was at port in Germany, emailed me today to say it is now in the UK, thinks it will be with them next week. Was ordered just after Christmas.

Cheers!

when they said it was “in port” I assumed (ho ho) they meant UK port...but maybe they mean Germany/ANOther?

My car (unregistered stock car) took a couple of weeks to get from the UK port to me. It was via Lex though, rather than ordered directly from a dealer by me.

OK, I have read quite a bit around build weeks on here but still confused.

Just got a scheduled build week 12, but I still don't understand what actual calendar week that is?

And then what timescales that means for delivery (roughly obviously)?

Anyone want to explain it simply for me! :)

Build weeks are usually the first week of the calendar year that production starts at the factory.

https://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/custom.html?year=2018&country=9&wno=1&hol=0&holm=1&df=1

Then from weeks 1-21 it will be manufacturing year {current year}, e.g;  'MY18' then in week 22 it will increment to the next manufacturing year, e.g; 'MY19'.  Or that's my understanding anyway and I'm not sure if the build weeks when manufacturing years increment differ from year to year.

With my Superb it was build and cleared the factory on 17th Jan (2017) . It was then in the UK on 30th Jan and delivered to the dealer a week later.  From various posts on this forum I believe 3-4 weeks is about the usual lead time for delivery to the dealer, after production.

Bear in mind that even with a build week given, the start of build of your particular car could be on any day within that week, Monday through to the following Sunday.

Had a call from the dealer today, car will be ready for collection on 16th March.

I ordered on the 19th Feb, guessing the snow had had some part to play in this but just over 3 weeks.

To give you a bit of an idea...  Build week 13 is 26/03/18 according to my dealer.  Hope that helps. I'm looking at delivery early May
