DSG Automatic Whirring / Whining when accelerating

Featured Replies

I recently bought a second hand 64 Reg Octavia SE DSG (35,000 miles.)

When accelerating the engine makes a whirring / whining noise.

I have had the car serviced and nothing was noted.

Has anyone had this problem? Is it a problem? (Common?)

Record it and post the video/audio clip.

Petrol/Diesel?

Welcome.

Is it a 1.4TSI 7 speed DSG or a 2.0TDI 6 speed DSG.

Is it bought and covered with a Warranty.

?

Who serviced it, and noted nothing, were they looking for anything?

Hi,

its 1.6 tdi diesel. It is still under 60 day warranty.

Arnold Clark used an independent skoda/seat/VW garage. They were sorting out a waterpump issue.

nothing was noted on the noise.

If the Water Pump was the issue good, sorting it out is a New Water Pump i hope, 2 year guarantee on the genuine part and labour.

Check this VIN checker for the DSG service campaign but '34H5' does not show here usually,

you need to ask Skoda UK or a main Dealership if your car need the Service Campaign software update.

Arnold Clark have enough workshops, & the College for Technicians are you sure they do not own the Independent  Skoda/SEAT/VW garage?

?

Who was it?

60 day warranty with AC as much use as they are.  They will be saying the Independent Garage will do the Warranty work...

the ones that hear, see and will say nothing, 'nothing was noted.'  Characteristic of the DQ200 DSG....

best buy a 12 month Warranty.

@AwaoffSki thanks for this info.

I have a 2yr extended warranty on the car. I’m bot sure about the independent garage but I’ll sure look into it.

I’ll speak to the local Skoda retailer and see what he has to say about it.

@KevC_Derby i’ll try and get a video loaded.
